Anonymous, 12 Apr 2020Need help: Samsung Galaxy M31 or Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max?To be honest, I asked the same question. You can check the hands-on review of the M31, as I have done just that. Performance and camera wise, I believe Note 9 Pro Max will be much better than M31’s somewhat lacking Exynos 9611, its camera algorithms, and the obnoxious bloatwares. Redmi has bloatwares too, but not as obnoxious as Samsung’s. M31 camera is similar to M30s, a little bit better, but very soft, fuzzy, and night mode is way too bad. Redmi’s has better camera UI, and boy, that video EIS is one of the best at this price range, and there’s also that Pro Video mode too.
TLDR; If you need gaming, photography, video recording, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max all the way. If you need better mic/audio recording, Super AMOLED screen, bigger battery overall then M31 might not be bad.
