I do not mind to have a MTK SoC (which is anyway cheaper than SD) in my phone as long as it provides a real world-wide connectivity like the latest SDs.
Unfortunately, MTK is still failing in doing that.
Let's wait for X30.

However, I do find a general l... moreOk, I have to agree with you on this one, even though I think this happens mostly for high end SOCs. I think high end excluded Qualcomm is not that better, either. But having a device with Snapdragon 801 released with Android 4.4, that now receives an update to Android 6.0 is quite impressive indeed.
