No doubt this was one of the best phones by Redmi, am still using it. Everything is okay except the battery which is draining fast. please advice me on the best replacement redmi phone that i should go for now. However any Leads to a S2 battery i will appreciate. this phone i must keep it as a relic and a spare phone for any emergency. No querry on its functionality so far since June 2018 till date.

I feel like it copied the iPhone X rear camera layout... Same camera resolution, 12MP, but not the same video resolution.

This phone... Oh my gawd is it good! My grandma was gifted a Redmi S2 3/32GB by my dad back in 2018, and fast forward to 2024, I use it as my main phone and its running the custom ROM LineageOS 20 like a champ!
The only thing that was broken was the camera which is because I accidentally dropped it to the ground, but the phone's body was OK so I would say 8/10 for durability

It asks 360 hours to wait for unlocking. when i changed my MI account to another it unlocks that day and Flash via fastboot file... Now I can Run open camera and other apps without Lag.. Still this phone is amazing. If we update to 12.0.2 it hang and lags occur, keyboard slow everything get hangs.. My phone 6 years. No issue with this. Still using..

I have been using this phone since August 2018 so I can tell its lifspan behaviour, It was a great phone till 2020 but then slowly and steadily I shows slow performance and in the last year or so apps tend to not function properly esp. if you open 2 or 3 apps. Its like the ram of the phone is full and things get stuck, even if each app only takes 200MB. If you close all apps the next you open is fine but only this one, more than one app open means problems. I think the late MUI 12 is causing that, overloads the ram in idle state and things get bad for apps. Sadly no updates for the phone since 2020

I have been use this phone since 11-2018 to 09-2022. 3/32GB variant, it's distributor warranty so I can't update the OS and stuck on MIUI 9.5 based Android 8.1. I didn't flash it and use this version for long time..
the phone is amazing, rarely hanging, battery life is good for 3K mah, nice camera..
the bad is the wifi can't be reconnected if I click forget/delete the connected wifi list I need to reset the phone to get it working again. played heavy games 2-3 hours with this phone.. SOT still hold strong after almost 4 years with 4-5 hours (low brightness) and I charging it everyday 2 times. this phone battery is incredible. The antenna line is peeling off but that's normal because it's plastic
