Xiaomi Android

Xiaomi's Pocophone F1 (known in India as the Poco F1) is quite the intriguing device, with its top of the line specs and incredibly low price. The handset's first flash sale in the subcontinent went live today at 12 PM, and apparently it was Flipkart's biggest and fastest flagship sale ever.

That's because sales totalling more than INR 200 crore (2 billion) were logged in less than five minutes. The company hasn't announced exactly how many units got bought, but we can infer that from the phone's pricing.

#POCOF1: thank you all for a fantastic response to the first sale!

We're happy to announce that we generated ₹200+ cr in less than 5 minutes today, making this the BIGGEST & FASTEST flagship sale ever on @Flipkart!

Thank you, Masters Of Speed. Next sale is on 5th September! pic.twitter.com/cydGtGjlb6

The lowest estimate, provided every single order was for the most expensive model, is 68,965 devices sold. On the other hand, if every buyer went for the base model, it would mean that 100,000 units were sold in those few minutes. Obviously the real number will be somewhere in between these.

The next flash sale in India takes place on September 5. The Pocophone F1 made its international debut on Monday, and it's expected to land in Europe and Hong Kong later this week. To learn more about it, don't miss our detailed review.

Well, I logged in to Flipkart just 5 min before and on 11:59 pm sale started, so I got one. I really like the phone, I bought it for my brother. The phone is a beast. I bought the base variant 6GB/64GB.
