http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ9VgyaIT4w&am... moreright here is the issue i just purchased yesterday a san francisco(ZTE Blade) for my gf yesterday and tried to istall the custom rom for 2.3.3 on the handset following the steps posted on youtube to get the to change the rom to custom rom however when doing this the handset should go through the boot up however the handset is just restarting itself.
when trying to do the factory reset on the phone it now no longer resets and just reboots itself has anyone got any suggestions?

Make a backup, then put the CM7.03 version from recovery manager, do not reboot, and use the converter genI to genII.
After all you can reboot and should work.

Also there's no way that a 600mhz two old generation CPU @ 600mhz will beat a 1ghz newer generation CPU with a way faster GPU. What you are buying is a mid range phone which can no way compare to a high end device.

Hasnaat, 08 May 2011I installed 2.2 swedish rom and my phone is gen 1. now I want to upgrade to 2.3.3 cyanogen mod... morehere is the topic about upgrading blade to gen2 and installind cm7 onto it. after completing the steps download the latest nightly build and install it via clockworkmod recovery. it is all very simple - just follow the steps in this guide and few others on the modaco blade subforum.

i cant connect my laptop via usb tethering or wifi tethering but no data traffic or no website opening.
what is the settings to run internet on laptop through my san francisco

This Smartphone is not/rarely available in India. Please suggest if anyone knows where its available in India, coz I like it although its OS is not up-to-date but by rooting and applying cyanogen-mod 7 its OS will be updated to Gingerbread that is Android 2.3 and I'll do anything to buy it if its available in India. After you have applied Cyanogen-mod 7, its performance is said to be better than Samsung Galaxy S - I9000 as compared in Quadrant benchmark. And its screen resolution - 480 X 800 px - is just less than that of IPhone 4 - 640 X 960 px.

For those who have just bought their phone or intend to get a new one, this is the link you need to debrand your phone. It will upgrade your phone from Gen1 to Gen2 (do install Mr. Pigfish first to confirm that your phone is indeed Gen1 or you will brick it), and install Android 2.3.3 (CM7). It is really quite easy and CM7 is a very solid and stable ROM for me.
