Yes this has the same functions as its previous version the A1200. Only good thing is that it reads the sms back to you in a robot voice. Other than that once again a crap phone from Motorola. A question really..why does Motorola build boring phones? Hello? The V3 design is so prehistoric. Why incorporate it in all their models?

> In reply to vaio @ 2008-08-25 07:58 from wr0H - click to readOne of the reasons for Moto to focus on 2G phones is the fact, People's Republic of China, is developing its own TD-SCDMA 3G system, which is quite different from the rest of the world.

Some sources indicated the government even purposely delays the release of WCDMA 3G license to other operators in PRC, so to ensure its own TD-SCDMA system is protected.

If 1/3 of your customers are willing to pay such "premium" for phones, especially for such compact touch screen device where N & SE can only dream of making, why not charge more?

Looks like a moto accomply of the late nineties......remember?
I prefer the A810, at least is simple, and more modern than this....

Playing around with both of these models, the A1600 has a much better camera than the A1800.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-08-06 09:39 from SqVm - click to readA1800 also supports CDMA, which A1600 doesn't. (and one has to pay near US$200 for that!)
