Phone looks good but i have been fooled by nokia before it needs to be introduced into the market first before a proper analysis can be done, and how does the Gps system compare to the Garmin or the TOM TOM,hope theres no software problems like the rest of the nokia N Series range also how good is the battery life.

Does anyone know on what technology the GPS is going to work, as we here at carphonewarehouse have just been made aware of the fact that there will be DATA charges on all networks if customers choose to use the GPS sat nav feature.

Can additional satnav software be added, but using the internal satnav hardware?
I wonder are the charges only for using NOKIAS mapping software???

Any ideas??

Finally, some good news about the availability of N95 :). I can't wait till Nokia starts releasing N95 in the US Market.
Is there a way I can be informed through email that the N95 has already been released in the US?

hey craig
i think that n95 is not the only fone where you can check what applications are running in background. i remember using 3650 which was one of the very few symbian devices back then, and in that fone, if i press and hold the menu key, it brings up a list of all the apps running in the background on the top left corner of your screen and all you gotta do is highlight the one you wanna close and press 'c'. same process applies to n70 and n73

Hey Baz,

Mate the problem with nearly all the N series phones is the the menu retains the folder as open once you go into it and then press the red key to exit, this clogs the memory of the phone with open programs. Nokia suggests that you use the exit soft key and back out of the programs you have been using, I suggest you turn the phone off and on again every day to two days depending on usage. The Nokia N95 is the first N series handset to include a feature that allows you to see all the current open programs in a specific screen and allows you to close the one's you are not using. This knowledge and feature should reduce the problems you've been having. As for the GPS charges, this will be free to just use the maps service but if you want a voice direction with your map it will cost either $2au or $3au per usage or $130 for 3 years.

Hey guys ,,some retailers are taking pre-orders for N95 but the price is quite ridiculous(?).Two retailers have given me a price of $1585(NZ) and $1680(NZ) .They dont have it in stock but would get it if I pay in advance.Vodafone wont be getting it anytime soon I guess? What price have you been offered and in which country ?
Cheers
