A quad-core LTE-enabled Galaxy S III with 2GB RAM to hit Korea - read the full textAfter the Galaxy S III was announced, a lot of people were displeased that it fails to provide a RAM upgrade over the S II. You see 1GB of RAM is more than enough for just about every use case, but more is always better when talking memory. Later Samsung announced the US Samsung Galaxy S III...

My SII came with Vodafone apps built-in and it frequently closes apps for memory saving. I can't remove them without rooting it, but i know they are using RAM and bandwidth with no benefit to me!

I have to assume that 2GB RAM would reduce the problem. Typically, i'd open music player, a browser, gmail app and text messages, copy'n'paste some text from a text message and find that the browser has been terminated while i was copying and it was hidden. This is irritating. If 2GB will help this i will happily wait or pay extra to get it.

The model number SHV-210S is wrong. The 2GB RAM, 64GB FLASH version SHV-210S earlier release embedds a Qualcomm dual core Krait (MSM8960) integrating multimode 3G DC-HSPA 42 Mbps DL baseband with with 850 MHz LTE band five for SKT.

What is the correct model for the quad if it actually exists.?

So what is more important for better phone functionality? RAM or the Quad? I notice that when checking my task manager, the apps reserve a lot of RAM by the CPU % is always 0 unless its currently in use.

Hey Sammy why only in Korea?
Even we were also waiting for this configuration.
The rumours in gsmarena last year about this phone was 2ghz processor, 2GB RAM, 12MP camera, 4.6" screen. But what we got is only larger screen size.
Please launch it in other part of the world as well.

I only have 1GB RAM on my core 2 duo laptop!!

1GB is plenty... By the time you start seeing/using the benefits of 2GB ram on your phone will be out of date. So stop worrying and enjoy the power of the S3 until you're ready to upgrade to Galaxy S4 or skip a generation and go for S5.
