I wish Sharp would release their Japanese phones stateside. Sharp and Casio phones in Japan are so much better than what we have here.

> In reply to s @ 2012-10-11 12:20 from 3ZH5 - click to readI think they are afraid of being sued by Apple. Look at Sammy. When they earned a name in smartphones and gained large amount of market shares, Apple was threatened.
So there solution was to file lawsuits and ban smartphones, especially the flagship ones. And to pay $1B+ for damages if Apple wins. Its called monopoly, I think. Not just Sammy but hTC also had a taste on patent issues from Apple.

> In reply to aqua24 @ 2012-10-11 14:57 from t7Xi - click to readyou have no idea about their phones since you havent been there. back in 2006 i own a toshiba 911T and it was a great phone that time (that was during the pre-iPhone era).
manufacturers like sharp, casio, toshiba, make most of their great phones just for japan use and and people like you doesnt even know. a lot of good phones they have that doesnt even exist here in gsmarena.
that time (2006), when the world was crazy over Nokia's 130ppi display phones, they have alreagy utilizes 250+ppi, gps navi, digital tv, Felica (something like google walet).
i think the only thing that saves korean phones (like samsung n LG) was the emergence of Android. japanese phones have network proprietary OS.
i think japanese network adapted the use of android just this late 2010.

how much is it? the japanese phone never see the light of another country which is a shame. But their menu/setting list is cluttered. A mess on the software front, but still the hardware is making my mouth dripping.
