It's basically an ipod with web browsing capabilities that makes and receives calls as well. There is no comparison with iphone with omnia or diamond or any other phone. And If you are saying Omnia has no hope because of iPhone. You are dead wrong then. iPhone is not a threat to Samsung, nokia or SE. And it wont be in near future either.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-08-16 01:57 from e6}mRead again i never said i always transfer files via bluetooth..
but it is quite important for me...
hmm in school i take a really good picture of a friend and he wants the picture its just easier to give it to her via bluetooth than go home and put it on my computer first and then E Mail it..
i am waiting for a class and i am really bored... At that time... The RADIO REally helps... so u know dont Generalise everything... there are still those who find the extra amenities in the omnia as Essential =)

Omnia is awesome compared to the i phone which user functions are worse than awful!!! I mean come on apple designers get a decent camera onboard then u may have a half sensible phone!!!

bluetooth file transfer is not essential. email and a good web browser is. and the iphone is the best phone for both. if i want to send a photo, i email it. not having bluetooth file transfer stops imbecils sending me animated gifs of cartoon characters having sex, so i see why apple omitted it. same goes for mms. O2 charge 25p per mms, so i refrained from sending photos. now with the iphone, i email photos and put them on facebook as easy or even easier than on a pc. that is why the iphone is unmatched, nothing comes close. windows mobile will never beat iphone os the way its going, so the omnia has no hope. maybe android from google?

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-08-15 20:41 from PEn1I'm sure that there a lot of people who still listen to fm radio every day. I'm one of them actually. Usually when I drive, buy I use my car audio, not my cellphone. At work as well, but I use pandora through my pc, iPhone has pandora btw, so it does have radio, but why would I use that? Look, it is handy to have fm radio on your phone, but it is not essential. And don't lie about you always transferring files via Bluetooth. That is impractically silly.

omnia fans just can't seem to leave the iPhone alone. Look, no matter how hard you pull down the iPhone, it will still be the phone to beat. Why? Because the iPhone is still the best on features that really matters with our day to day usage of a cellphone. No one sends files via Bluetooth every day. No one listens to fm radio thru their phones every day. What users will use or see every day is the display quality of the phone, making calls indoors and outdoors use under direct sunlight, text messaging, mp3 player, and web browsing. Those are the features and functions that we deal with everyday with smartphones. And that is where the iPhone excels. Now why would I sacrifice the awesome performance of the iPhone over extra features that I will not be using every day? I would just end up complaining of lag issues and poor responsiveness.

Hmmm... imitations... ?
welll its like every ones stunned... mostly its because it is a copy of the iphone... but those who call it a cheap knock off dont understand the gravity of their statement... it is sad but true that the iphone is the pioneer blending the PDA with an entertainment phone, but this in no way means that every other device a cheap imitation. Samsung did was Apple wasn't capable of[or didn't find it necessary] in either case what samsung has created is honestly leading the way now. Why put a music player in a phone and then limiting its capabilities? A non apple phone gives you freedom to transfer data via bluetooth why would you want an i phone, if you can get everything in it AND More [lots more]?
So those fustrated ones who call it a mere imitaion REAlly need to get their facts right ...
Cheers

I think the only drawback of Omnia compared with iPhone is the display. iPhone's one is fantastic!

> In reply to Kal @ 2008-08-13 13:33 from vwdnMote importantly, samsung provides the iphones PROCESSOR to apple. Ironically, I think it's the same one going into the omnia, just a higher clock.I have used the Iphone, the tocco and the diamond. Samsung aims at the traditional phone Market, and apple is more popular with the geeky but trendy. Htc is just unusable.

I know Iphone users are only buying for the hype of this phone but they are suffering from the cons basically. Even the 4th largest manufactures which is LG can outdo Iphone how much more is SAMSUNG. Iphone is using SAMSUNG chips and apple is nothing and will be nothing against the top 5 manufacturers of phones. As far as I am concern, they do not have yet the technology on the mobile phone world. They are only specializing on PC's, laptops and well the Ipod which is heavily advertised but no trademark audio technology pionered.

I believe that without the Iphone samsung would not have touchscreen phones atm
It's weird. Iphone anounced, then prada then viewty then f480 then htc diamond then omnia and tube, blackberry thunder too. And the ones out now, the touchscreen and ui is far behind the iphones. Yes Bluetooth, mms camara and video are not good points but it makes up for it big time.
