gps is a free service produced by american army and depends on 24 satellites orbiting around earth and remember this feature is available everywhere in the world in every street even in offline mode you can use it.
i work i a store and we sell phones like nokia and etc.....
6110 Navigator is the best phone i have ever seen
This camera is realy bad for features of the new market phones.
Look at Samsumg F-700 camera, for example, with 5.0 Mega pixels and autofocus.
there is a good video on you tube where someone from the nokia tells you everything about gps navigation, what you get, and what you need to pay for, just type "nokia 6110 navigator" at you tube and you'll find soon.
the turn-by-turn voice guided navigation is free and already in this handset with a preloaded map of your country where you buy it. you need to pay for extra maps if you want any.
to louie: i can't suggest which one, since it is totally up to you, which one do you really need gps or tv? it is a bit of a shame that there is no an ultimate model (as sometimes we called the n95, but now the n77 has tv) but this is never going to be ended, there always will be a better model, with more features. we must compromise to our budget and to our needs. i think these upper class nokia phones are all good enough, the real question is what you need, and can pay for it.
Does this phone navigator LIVE traffic updates and TURN to TURN are free or do we have to pay for those ones?
Does this phone has repeat alarm?
it's really a good handset with all the features what i am actually looking for and i am eagerly waiting for the handset when it's going to be avail in indian market?
nothing is for free - to get turn by turn navigation you need to buy a license...
of course. enter in your car, fit yourself confortable in the seat and get the nokia 6110 out of your pocket, simple.
thanks unoma, that info is helpful.
can u suggest me which phone is better to buy?
There are 2 phones that lingers in my mind, 6110 Navi and N77. Both have it's unique features, N77 has DVB-H TV reciever and 6110 Navi has GPS reciever..
looks ok but hoe long will it last... They seem to be producing too many phone and need to spen more time making fewer handsets..
it's gps and agps,
if we can believe for all the available information, which means, you can use it as a regular gps device (i think even without a sim card) and doesn't cost anything at all
or you can take advantage on the agps and get faster gps especially when you turn it on, also you can use weaker signal, so get more area which might be covered a little bit. but this agps support probably depends on your local gsm provider, as the price of the usage too. it is very hard to find any details about agps when it comes to your provider, average customer support never can give you a "smart" answer, but that is the only way to find out
