Anyone who has bought N8 without waiting for rewievs is obviesly a hardcore Nokia-fan who never ever will say anyting bad about his newest Nokia-phone.
Symbian can not even handle larger resolution than 360 x 640 pixels so Symbian clearly sucks! It is easy to be "lagfree" when the phone never has to produce more than 360 x 640 pixels.
ShameOnNokia, 30 Sep 2010USB OTG is pretty much useless. Unless you want to carry a portable HDD around with you all da... moreCompletely disagree. Maybe you don't see it's relevance but for most people, it can be one of the main reasons why we will be purchasing n8, or e7. It just simply makes a device a feature rich mobile computer.
College students like me often carry usb sticks to save files, and to view those files and edit them you need to have a laptop or a pc. Not now, because USB OTG is here. Sharing a file will be very easy. If i have a friend who wants to share me a video he saved on his flash drive night before, he can simply connect it to my usb otg compatible device and playback it right there and then.
I personally don't fancy the idea of using my phone for storing school related stuffs. Because i don't like the idea of connecting my phone again and again to the pc's cpu. It's a hassle, given the port's very incovenient locations. And for most times, i will not be carrying a laptop(or simply not taking it out of my backpack) once i have n8, and just want to read and edit the files.
Saying USB OTG is useless is like saying laptops and netbooks doesn't need to have a USB port.
The inclusion of USB OTG, is not just to solve the problem of storage and certainly not to add a useless nifty trick. Like what you are implying. I myself can't imagine my phone with a dangling cable on the side all day just for the heck of it, and certainly, we will not be using USB OTG just for the heck it. At the most desperate situations, when you are pc disabled, or you are just too lazy to take your laptop out of your back pack to do a simple file transfer, you can just have N8 around to do the job on one hand, even while hiking or sky diving :)

How about reading reviews of people who's actually has had hands on experience? Every review out there says the OS is slow and unresponsive, intomobile.com, has a couple of reviews on both N8 and E7. In both reviews they said device was slow and unresponsive. I don't know about you but have YOU owned any samsung device? I haven't owned any samsung devices in the past 4 years, my last samsung was actually a D400 and this was in 2004. The galaxy S has been my first Samsung device ever since 2004 and so far I have not had any complaints about it. Instead of saying "people i know says it sucks" go get yourself a samsung and then come by and tell me when you've had experience. I've had experience with almost every major company out there, I've owned several nokia high end phones, SE P1i, HTC g1. I've never had any problems with any of my phones, not even Nokia has given me problems besides the hardware limitation. First you say Symbian as an OS is best, then when i discredit your statement you say "don't rely on OS, rely on phone manufacturer". Make up your mind if you want to form an argument.
just dont bet on operating system. Samsung may has a good operating system but it makes the worst quality mobiles. Their built quality is so poor. Almost every one i know having a samsung product complaint of its poor quality. More over they dont even give satisfactory after sales support. After buying a $500 device what i am gonna do with the operating system if the phone is not working. With nokia in my hand i am very much satisfied. If there is any good company making a good android phone with proper after sales than my obvious choice is android otherwise nokia symbian 3 is the best. It is new fresh faster more feature rich and its a NOKIA.
scorpio, 01 Oct 2010no doubt android is beating symbian in os race. But just see who companies are using android. ... moreLOL you do realize that Nokia has manufacturing plants locating in china too correct? Do you really think the companies putting together mobile phones for Nokia will do it any differently for say HTC or Samsung? In fact iphones are assembled in China as well, so far most of the people I know with an iphone 3GS is happy, their phones still work the same as when they got it on launch day. My friends with an HD2 is still happy as well.

Where as the N900 is a multimedia mobile device designed to keep you connected. It has basically push updates to most social networking sites on the go. This is basically the main reason why android uses so much power. Its constantly connecting to servers to check for updates. You say Symbian has the most features? name some features that most other mobile OS don't? Customization? You obviously never heard of jailbreaking an iphone have you?
nokia is getting borred day by day and also comes with bandal phones right now samsung is best in every model and nokia has no more changes in looks every one is sam
no doubt android is beating symbian in os race. But just see who companies are using android. . . If you have lots of money and can switch between latest phones fast than you can surely buy a samsung or htc. Nokia gives a reliable product. They gives the best after sales. And now nokia is back in competition. Android may be a good os but it cant make a reliable phone. Its the manufacturer who makes it. Is there any competition for nokia in this race ? If you are a die hard fan of android than wait few more. . . Market is gonna flooded with cheap dirty chinese handsets running on android. And classy fashionista go for nokia, the real phone brand. The brand will speak itself.
Is this battery enough for such a camera and AMOLED LCD??! I don't think so... :/

More rational individuals look at things like features(symbian in no1), capabilities(symbian), usability(android), customizability(symbian) and battery life(symbian). The iphone is for teenage american girls. Its useless. Its not even a smartphone by definition.
. . . . . . . .
It takes an imbecile to conclude that a larger battery means longer battery life. My nokia n97 mini lasts twice as long as my n900. The former has a 1200 mah and the latter, the much praised 1500.
disappointed that nokia did not include BP-4L 1500 mAH battery and memory card slot in e7 which are all available in predecessors of the communicator line-up.
Go to hell symbian and nokia critics! Android and iOS fanatics go to your own places! Better leave this site now and join to your respected anti-nokia forums! Maybe you are now afraid that nokia is now back in the smartphone competition. Don't judge the phone that is not yet released in the market.
I have had many nokia's in the the past and all of them were great. The thing that nokia needs to do is change the os (they should of got palm before hp). iOS, android, palm os and windows 7 are all good os, symbian is out dated! Eye candy is everything now, even Rim plans to change their os to the play book's (that's their new tablet). Nokia doesn't need android but something Fu@king close, YOU CANT HAVE A OS THAT CAN BE USED ON A UNTOUCH SCREEN!!!!
As of now iPhone 4 is king not because of the hardware or software, but it's easy to use. If you thing I'm wrong, tell me 3 reason why. To be the king you have to beat the king and only android is putting up a fight for now.
All Features are complete
If the effective pixels of camera photographying be real,This phone is complete

From gsmarena's own samsung section, Samsung only has like 5 Wave(Bada OS) Devices and about ~15 phones running Android. Also besides south korean Samsung isn't even marketing their Bada OS. Reason because for quite some time Android was only US, however Android is world wide now.

Unless you want to carry a portable HDD around with you all day which can be quite heavy you're stuck with microSD, and unless you have USB flash drives that are microUSB rather than regular USB you're stuck as well. If you're gonna be carrying around a portable USB HDD you are most likely gonna be carrying around a laptop. Nokia likes to make nifty features that are really pointless and not functional. Someone mentioned that with USB OTG you can pop in your portable HDD and rearrange files... So you're gonna carry around a heavy USB HDD drive just to rearrange some files around? cool, good for you.

You're either a very good market marketing personnel or a very bad financial assessor. First off, Nokia doesn't have ~10B Euro, by which i think you mean 9.7B to be precise. That is their total cash flow. Their net cash flow was closer to ~5B. This isn't profits though, their profit margin was slightly under 1B Euro, this is values for Q1 2010. So no, Nokia isn't bankruptcy proof, not even in the slightest. In contrast Apple's cash flow for Q1 2010 was 16B, net cash flow was 7.66B, this is more impressive than Nokia considering how much cash apple spends. Maybe you should enroll at your local community college and take a course in business and finances.
