Dear Santa ...
Mehdi, 12 Apr 2010can android os suppoet 16M colors??Android OS 2.0 and above support 16M colors.
This thing cannot possibly be the iPhone killer with it's price.. 600 EUR is just too expensive for just a phone..
can android os suppoet 16M colors??
could this phone be the iphone killer ????
On Paper the hardware is the best mobile phone out there, A screen so beautiful and big with brand new Super AMOLED technology and high resolution, a powerful camera with 720P video capture, 1GHZ CPU and very powerful "Hummingbird" graphics chip (more power than Sony PS2) pushing amazing 90 million triangles/second.
On the software side, it's powerful also running Android 2.1 (Éclair) and with very powerful GPU they can play all sort of video including (DivX & XviD), but Samsung is running it's own skin on top of Android and Samsung don't have a good reputation with there own skin software, also newer version of Andorid may take long time to update in this phone, as Samsung is known for that behavior of delayed and bad software support.
But this the most promising and spec complete phone out there (for now) so i recommend waiting for full in-depth review. hopefully Samsung will give us good software and fast OS update.
Also according to Expansys it will be avalible by 31st May. cost around USD 687 http://www.expansys.ae/d.aspx?i=198072
Why Samsung don't put led flash and FM radio? Otherwise, it will be a perfect phone. I can live without them but nice to have them on board. I usually use camera flash as a torch (very useful feature) and FM radio sometimes.
All other functions and features are awesome. The body should be a bit solid like Wave or iPhone. I have had Omnia and the casing became too lose after a few months of usage. And the screen dead after 6 months.
yet another candidate for my new phone.. and that could be my first samsung.
This phone looks the business, not just on specs which knock the socks off anything currently out there, but on actually apps/use (see the vids available on youtube). My contract is currently up and I was almost set on getting the HTC Desire until I saw this, this blows it out of the water! Like a few other people it's probably going to be this vs the new iPhone for me, although I think the iPhone will be more expensive on contract than this and I feel that I would have more freedom with this phone and not be handcuffed to Apple! Just wish they would hurry up and announce the released date and carriers for the UK

just my opinion
[deleted post]well, apparently, Nokia is developing Meego to compete with the other OS now, even though Symbian is being developed and I expect to see symbian^3 shortly, and i think Nokia said that they would announce symbian^4 later this end of year?
from what I see in the video, Symbian^3 is pretty good, so is the maemo 5 for now and let just wait for the MeeGo
Because a LOT of people, me included, think that a slide out QWERTY keyboard is redundant, clunky and not needed.
A phone with a screen this big needs to be as lightweight as possible. This means NO keyboard.
It is apparently going to AT&T.
I hate AT&T!!!!!!! The service sucks.
I want the phone to go to T-mobile.
Yeah this phone just passed through FCC and is coming to AT&T! I'm eligible for an upgrade in May so this will definetely be my next phone. Lets just hope they don't cripple the phone like the did the backflip.
One thing i have to say , the phone looking very good but after my i8910 samsung BAD no no VERY BAD software support i will not fall for it again. So Samsung must listenig customers needs first and then making new devices.

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2010Nice phone, nice look, nice specs. But I do not get one thing, these days it is almost a must ... moreYou're wrong. Fail. Swype = ownage. Gone are the days of physical keyboards.
Play.com in the UK has updated their website, I saw it in google product page listed for £399, but the price is not removed from the website, The £399 is inline with Samsung wave which can be pre ordered for £339 at play.com
