ok!!! FIREPHONE RUNS ALL THE ANDROID APPS PROPERLY!!!

apart the ones that using google servises which are not that many!!! how to do it?

1)open the browser.
2)google the name of the app you want to install followed with .apk ex.

snapchat.apk or
Youtube.apk download or
uk motorcycle parking. apk or
google maps .apk

3) now download this file.

4)using a file manager ( download one from amazon store) go and find the file you downloaded on your phone. is not that hard!! as soon as you find it at the fisrt place the rest of the files are going to be on the same place.

5) click on the apk file and install the app. and thats it really.

you can now delete the apk file. you can also download the apk files using your laptop. drug and drop the files to your phone and the run them. and they will be installed at your phone.

quite str8 forward.
i think you can install google play store with the same way but i havent done it yet just got the phone yesterday .

ALL THE ANDROID APPS ARE AVAILABLE ON FIREPHONE!!!!!!!

Being a professional into telecom industry, i always felt like the next big company that can challenge big players is Amazon - they proved me wrong.

I bought Amazon Fire Phone for 200$ through black Friday offer and now i feel like i wasted my money, its a complete failure. My feedback with one STAR are based on below observations

1- Hardware wise this phone is good but its OS suxs more than any thing. The their view is divide into carousel and main applications page which suxs, as it leaves no privacy for the user. Your last activity pops up out of no where.

2- Basic telephony i.e. making and receiving call is worst. You are not able to hear other side clearly. If you make call on speaker, you feel like other guy is speaking a language from ancient Rome. This phone is not fit for basic telephony either.

3- If you are on call and someone messaged in an other app your like Skype, it will ring Big Ben in your ear. I hate it!!!

4- Notifications on lock screen are worst. You hardly see any thing except missed call icon and email icon. User will miss notifications from other apps.

5- Dynamic perceptive as they advertise in their Videos is worst, it works only on their lock screen i observed.

6- If you use maps, never try this phone. Preloaded maps are worst than any thing - they cant even plot your location the map :(. There is not a single good maps application in their store. Even if you are a geek (like me) and managed to load Google maps by tricking fire OS, still they wont work.

Conclusion: I want to sale my phone after using it for 05 days. Are you interested?

What google does with android doesn't matter one bit. they dont have to match the specs of current phones or offer the same experience because theirs is unique. sideload any apps missing and youre good

With all due restect, this Amazon Fire phone is still Android v3.x A near obsolete version of Android. Very few 3rd party software companies are writing any updated versions.

For people asking whether they can use their normal Google Playstore and not Amazon unique, I do not know yet. I want to know as well. I will post in about a week about it. In the meantime try to setup with your normal Google Playstore. But you will always have to have a local Amazon account so you can get base OS updates.

I have been wanting to try one of these, For the 3D effect offered by the additional 4 corner front facing cameras. Not at $199 reasonably priced no contract. I will be connecting it with Tmobile. I think these will be a good deal for most people non business use looking for a personal only Android phone. Good for calls, text, email, games, facebook etc. I do not know if this phone will accept my normal Google Android store ID. Even if different just use free apps. This phone is not a replacement for a high end Android (Nexus, Motorola, Samsung, etc.) or newer iPhone. But it may just do everything you are looking for in a phone. Me, 30 years IT experience speaking.

I just bought Fire phone from Amazon.. Shipping on Tuesday. I needed a good phone this to used this year holiday. I think it is a steal; considering Prime membership expiring in a couple months.

I do like Amazon ecosystem, and I do think this phone is perfect for me. I currently using Galaxy Light, and it's pretty easy to learn within a few day. I'm not the type of person that will pay $700 on high end phone.

$100 for Fire phone truely an early Christmas Gift for myself. I was shopping for an Nexus 5 but Google playstore soldout. On Amazon, $500 to $550 dollar and that device is a year old. Soon as I foundout about Fire phone, I jumped right on it.

I see a lot of people showing interest in this phone now that they're temporarily slashed the price by over 50% from it's already reduced price but I'm here to tell you not to be fooled. If you want a phone like this buy a galaxy S4 instead, you can get them used but in good condition for about the same price. The reason you should get an S4 instead is in return for a slower, but still completely usable, processor you'll get a higher res screen, an SD card slot, a removable battery that lasts longer, and you'll be getting an actual Android phone rather then Amazon's proprietary fork of the OS.
