Asus Android Firmware Updates

Asus has started rolling out the stable update to Android 14 for the Zenfone 10. This is now on its way to global models, including those sold in the EU. In order to get the update, your Zenfone 10 needs to be on software version 33.0220.0220.101.

Once you've downloaded the 1.3GB update and installed it, you will then be on software version 34.1004.0204.65. As always, the update is going out in batches, based on the phones' serial numbers, so it could take a few days for it to reach all of the Zenfone 10 units out there in the wild.

If you haven't yet seen the update notification, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System updates. Asus strongly advises you to back up your data before proceeding, as apparently "some 3rd party apps are not compatible with Android 14 yet".

The changelog mentions optimizations for Bluetooth connectivity (headset disconnections and noise problems have been fixed), fixes for speakerphone call echo issues, a new method of displaying battery usage "to view app usage in segments", support for the new "Photos and Videos" permission and the new system photo picker, as well as revamped Mobile Manager, Contacts, Phone, Emergency Dialer, File Manager, Calculator, Clock, Gallery, Weather, Sound recorder, Settings, Phone Clone, Local backup, and Launcher.

You also get color and brightness customization of the clock widget on the lock screen, and the customized Asus power menu now has restart and shutdown options, since they were apparently missing. Of course, everything that Google packed into Android 14 is also there.

Hey windows updates are important especially security intelligence update. Same goes for Android security updates as most of the times, they fix some major security loopholes. Feture updates are useless if though unless its a major one.
