It's because they share the same model name but differs in the model number. People thought they also have the same processor that's why the SRP is that of the 2018 model.
The Android Lollipop installed on this Zenfone 5 is the initial release which is the 5.0 version which is the culprit for rapid battery drain. If only this had the 5.0.2 or 5.1.1 versions, it could have had a stellar battery life.
The Intel Atom processor on this Zenfone 5 is prone to excessive overheating and the included battery drains quickly.
