Take away the bb connectivity options-which are beyond fantastic-the bb torch handset has been a disappointment. Firstly nokia and xperia users cannot read my text messages which the network canno solve. Secondly, even attachments from bbm contacts cannot be sent to other bbm contacts. Further, the phone heats up after 5mins of having the slider open when on a call. The keypad is tight which makes typing a slow processM if you have not previously used a bb, adpot some patience before investing in one_ergonomics was not on top of the designer's agenda nor was battery endurance. If size counts, this is not a compact handset. Can't say I'm loving or even liking this phone and can't say I want to let go of the month the affordable bb connectivity...
The torch 9800 is a wonderful and very nice phone but the battery life sucks. Rim need to make a better battery for this phone because i love this phone too much to loose it. A message to Rim

I am considering buying Torch 9800. Can someone clarify one thing for me??
specs say that it does not have support for flash?? can that support be added by using some third party software or web browsers??
[deleted post]to decide which model to get Iphone 4 or Blackberry any model you need to consider what you are looking on a phone. I used to have both of them and i prefer the Blackberry. i'm not the kind of user that download tons of apps. i basically use the phone for comunication: email, text messaging, BB messenger (i have customers overseas) and i do some browsing. Iphone is more for the tons of applications they have. i have also a iPod touch that i can do evrything an iphone 4 does but calls and i barely use it. so, it's up to you
suga, 01 Nov 2010hello all!! i just noticed from the white torch pictures, it has two black dots beside the ... moreNo it's the LED for coverage and messages and also a proximity/light sensor, you can only really see the LED one (to the right)

I saw the article that honking is launching torch with enable handwriting Chinese and English....I have torch from AT&T but how to use the handwriting on torch????
I'm personally a big fan of the BlackBerry 9800. The touch screen combined with the full qwerty keyboard makes it much more user friendly than just one or the other. If you unlock it, its usable worldwide on all GSM networks. BBM is a huge help when communicating with international business contacts. Apple will have a tough time keeping up with RIM if they continue to produce cutting edge technology such as this. Although Apple crushed RIM in sales by 2 million dollars on the iPhone alone versus all BlackBerry models combined Unlocked BlackBerry Torch
Is it possibale to edit a document (MS Office) or is the pre-intalled application just a viewer?
And how about pdf files, can the phone open a pdf file?
Hey guys, I was wondering if this phone will only work with AT&T because I'm not in the USA?, I'm in Serbia and I use Telenor, Please answer me, thanks.
I have used a Torch 9800 to make a phone call and the earpiece speaker volume is very quiet even when it is set to maximum volume.
the battery doesnt live that long...and program, its very confusing...there was one secret button of it that could erase all your file...what a pain in the ass phone!!!
