vivo Android Rumors

Two days ago vivo announced its new smartphone subbrand iQOO. While we still wonder what the correct pronunciation is, the company has no time to lose and is already pitching its phone to partners. According to images from the Chinese social network Weibo, it will be a foldable device.

The renders are pretty self-explanatory - the tall phone will transform into a bigger tablet-like device. Unlike the expected fold-in design as some manufacturers, it will fold out, keeping the screens on the outside.

There isn’t any other info available, but according to the tipster, the price could be well above CNY7,000, which is over $1000. The images are just renders with no buttons or ports, so it will either adopt the APEX 2019 key-less approach or is just a very early render that is yet to be finalized.

It's good that they're starting somewhere - foldable devices are not yet where they need to be but will only improve with time. Also, a foldable device makes sense for gaming in particular (expandable screen real-estate, larger battery).

Cool. Either this or do want to be stuck with unfoldable giant slabs with notches forever?
