Huawei 40W SuperCharger leaks in the wild

Huawei Honor Android

The Honor CEO George Zhao revealed at IFA 2018 that the company is planning to introduce the smartphone Honor Magic 2 with almost 100% screen-to-body ratio and sliding back panel that exposes the front camera. Zhao also said the new device would support up to 40W charging speeds and now sources from China revealed the first look of the actual charger.

The guys from Chongdian Tou reported an exclusive leaked photo of the Huawei SuperCharge device that is expected to top the battery of the Honor Magic 2 in virtually no time. While the input is standard - 100-240V~50/60Hz, the output is where things get interesting - Huawei promises 10V at 4A, almost doubling its current 5V at 4.5A SuperCharge capabilities.

Chongdian Tou also said Huawei could make the device go up to 5A, but since this is the peak value, the company decided to hold back for reliability terms. This way the battery is prevented from overheating and aging quicker than it needs to.

Although Honor Magic 2 is expected to launch in December 2018, Huawei is expected to unveil the Huawei Mate 20 Porsche Edition next month. Hopefully, the phablet will introduce the new charging standard early, similar to what Oppo did with the Find X Lamborghini Edition unveiling and the 50W SuperVOOC.
