Huawei just announced a slew of new products and the budget Enjoy 60X smartphone and its iconic Band 8 are going to be our focus here. Let's start with the Enjoy 60X, which sports a humongous 7,000mAh battery and an interesting design.
The device is built around a big 6.95-inch IPS LCD panel with 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 680 SoC does the math, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
The Enjoy 60X uses a 50MP main camera aided by a 2MP depth sensor. The notch on the front houses a single 8MP selfie camera.
As we already mentioned, the Enjoy 60X is built to last you beyond a full day of usage. Its 7,000 mAh battery should be able to keep you away from the plug for at least two day, even with moderate to heavy use. Charging might take a bit longer, though, as the only reaches 22.5W input.
Interestingly enough, the 512GB memory variant can reverse charge at 22.5W via cable, which is quite impressive. The device runs on HarmonyOS 3.0 out of the box.
There are five color options and depending on which one you get, it will either be made of plastic or faux leather. The Orange and one of the Black paint jobs offer a leather finish, while the White, Green and the other Black are plain plastic.
As of now, we don't have information on pricing and availability. We are also unsure whether the Enjoy 60X would make it outside of China.
Huawei Band 8
Moving onto the Huawei Band 8, it offers a modest upgrade over its predecessor, with most of the hardware being retained. The new band weighs 14 grams without the strap (down from 16 grams), but it's still housing a 1.47-inch OLED screen with 194 x 369px resolution.
The new Band 8 adopts a more blocky look with flat sides and the strap is supposed to be easier to handle too.
Huawei is focusing on the additional features the band brings, such as Huawei's improved TruSleep 3.0 tracker, TruSeen 5.0 (for heart rate tracking and other bodily functions) and TruSport that can recognize 100 different activities.
The software also allows you to customize your watch face, as there are more than a thousand presets available. Some of them support AoD too.
The band goes for CNY 269 for the Green, Black and Pink options without NFC or CNY 309 with NFC. There's also a Black/Orange version with a fabric strap that goes for CNY 279 without NFC and CNY 319 with NFC. Pre-sales start today and actual shipments commence after April 26. The special Orange version arrives on May 31.
60X needs to eliminate the bezels; unnecessary when screen real estate is MUCH more important than sloppy bezels. Re the Band 8; why even bother calling this "8" because there is NOTHING much new here. A total waste of space with virtua...
