Last week we told you that the iQOO Z12 Turbo's chipset leaked along with its screen size, and that it will very likely be sold outside of China as the iQOO 16R, just like the Z11 Turbo became the iQOO 15R. Today, the iQOO 16R has received its first certification, showing up in Indonesia's TKDN database with the model number I2606.

The listing confirms the iQOO branding and 5G support. The same model number was spotted in the GSM Association’s IMEI database back in early September, which is where the iQOO 16R name first surfaced.

Going by the Z12 Turbo leaks, the 16R should come with a 6.59-inch screen with an "ultra-high refresh rate" and either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro chipset, and iQOO is allegedly evaluating an active cooling fan for it.

A tipster also claimed back in July that the company's next performance phones are being tested with batteries of up to around 10,000 mAh, which would be a big jump from the 15R's 7,600 mAh. The Z11 Turbo launched in China in January, with the 15R following in February, so if iQOO sticks to that schedule, both successors should be official in early 2027.
