Apple iOS Rumors

Digital Chat Station has shared details about the iPhone 18e before, and today the tipster is back on Weibo with a fuller picture of the iPhone 17e's successor. Apple launched the iPhone 17e in March, so a spring 2027 debut for the new model would fit the pattern, and the device has before been rumored to arrive alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2.

According to DCS, the iPhone 18e will have a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, so if you were hoping the "e" series would finally get a higher refresh rate, it looks like you'll have to keep waiting. It's also said to be powered by the Apple A20 chipset, built on a 2nm process. A previous rumor from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also pointed to the A20 for this phone, along with 9GB of RAM.

On the camera side, the tipster says the iPhone 18e has a single 48MP rear camera, which is the same resolution as the iPhone 17e's main camera. The selfie camera, on the other hand, may be upgraded to 24MP, up from the 12MP one on its predecessor.

So, for all intents and purposes, this is shaping up to be a minor upgrade compared to its predecessor, unless Apple surprises us with a much improved battery capacity or something. We'll let you know when we find out more.
