isn't the record for the fastest texter in the world held by a girl from singapore..??
i am the best.....south african!challenge?
Yep, Philippines is the texting capital of the world. SMS sending grew because of the thriftiness of Filipinos and voila! it became a trend all over the world. It's odd LG snubbed the Philippines on this event. or maybe they know the Filipinos are sure-winner. lolz or maybe because they can't even sell decent LG phones here.
Call centers and outsourcing centers in philippines are always complaining about the lack of qualified people. They can't speak normal english anymore. They only know how to use texting/chatting language like, wer u? (where are you) and hu u (who are you?). And wer na u. The nationwide retardation has set in.
Anonymous, 15 Jul 2009how do u know the phillipines is the capital texter of the world where is the proofActually it's true. Back in 2004, Smart telecom (2nd largest mobile telco) stated that each individual sends more than 120+ sms per day and since then i can only imagine the number grew astronomically. And I believe the figure. When I visited, all they did was texting on the phone. Perhaps that's why their productivity is so low. Infact a scooter cut in front of my car when I was a the stop light and it wouldn't move even when the light turned green because the little guy on the scooter was too busy texting.
They should just keep the money to develop some decent phones ;)

its so unfair for philippines to not be included in this contest considering the philippines is the texting capital of the world.
perhaps lg could'nt give a stuff about phillipines otherwise they would have entered them, also they would have entered the u.k as well so it aint a world competition ,so lg can stuff thier phones where the sun does'nt shine, also lg sort your software and batterys out before you go bust
I wonder why LG didn't include Philippines. It makes me think that they wouldn't like to promote their products here. Because I bet the LG Worldcup is a contest for fast texters and at the same time, a promotion of their mobile phones to further improve their market presence.
Overall, it is definitely a very bold move for LG.
I've got to agree with "Sekundes". Filipinos are fast texters indeed. Even gradeschoolers can text really fast even with those delicate fingers.
However, what I couldn't agree is that, LG is definitely NOT unheard of here in our country. In fact, if you just happen to visit Cgena.com, which by the way is a Philippine-based website, LG Cookie is among the Most Popular phones. Sorry but to tell you honestly, LG has started to gain popularity way back when LG released their KU990 Viewty. But that was just the time that they were noticed here! In short, most of us Filipinos don't even know that LG has already entered the mobile phone market before that.
Lol! I remember back then when I was about to buy my previous phone (Nokia N95), the only LG phone on the store was the LG KU990 Viewty! Lol.. No other LG low-end phones whatsoever.
It took me 1.285 seconds to write this message.
once again lg miss out the uk... on that note f lg

And now you hit us with another cracker- 'your sister burned her fingers from texting too fast'. Sounds like a loony tunes cartoon to me. Do her ears shoot steam when she's angry too? do her legs turn into a blur when she runs really fast?
must be because she happened to bne born in the phillipines though right?
Clint, 14 Jul 2009 While I think its fantastic that LG is holding the competition, you must realize it was put ... moreyou are right, but i wasn`t talking about the quality. i was talking about the design. design sold that phone, not quality or performance. i was just pointing to someone who said that LG copy everyones design, that they have made a lot of inovations in phone industry. (pardon my english :)
