It has its own pitfalls but it is also making many OEM to get into Mobile space. It is next to impossible to have Mobile Standards with every manufacturer coming up with their own eco-system, expect consumers to try out all...Closed wall eco-system is good for Apple from its inception in 80s. Which is one of the reason why they could not penetrate PC market for so long until they changed their chipset to Intel based.

Surface is still a tablet but with a power of a laptop and it's more practical as it has harddrive in it and comes with stylus and keyboard in the package. Not like ipad what you you pay 1100$ for 128GB version then add 100$ for stylus and 170 for keyboard and thats in total of 1370$
Ipad pro is just a toy with bigger screen. Surface Pro isn't just a toy and you can do everything on it like you get to do on a desktop or laptop

It optimized performance with manual control. We can overclocked the CPU and GPU too. But that mode is hidden. Only few knows about it. That is open source advantage.

Apple way of doing thing are called, MINIMISE, not optimize as you suggested. Doing that will help to reduce system hardware requirements, just like Windows, Tizen and then old Symbian OS.

with cheaper price you got surface pro intel i7 with windows 10 desktop and great pen control (some professional artist use surface pro),
@_@ microsoft always known for expensive products like arc mouse, keyboard wedge, etc but apple is MORE expensive than microsoft, i wonder how much apple profit for each product?

There in the States there is much poverty, more than you think and in South Korea the middle life level is more higher than in the States because in South Korea, the majority of the people are of middle class.
