Was really looking for the windows phone with good hardware, this phone has impressed me. now I believe this will help me in corporate use as well as my personal use. I am able to see a lot of negative comments here but i have observed that most of them are from unprofessional background. W10m is highly capable to satisfy corporate needs and the specs of this phone are enough impressive. Great efforts from HP! this will bring a change in market.

We're on the same field and have seen how the reigns were slowly tightened on the Developers over the years.
The way they killed the Dual Boots is one of the best examples.
I appreciate how Microsoft's efforts to innovate the Windows System to be at par with Mobile. I just think it's too premature at the moment to implement the Mobile OS version for business as it is limited.
When MS announced Windows to be standard across all platforms, everybody had their hopes up, only ended being crushed when MS implemented multiple versions of W10 for different platforms. They should have resolved "One Microsoft" first before taking on the Mobile dept... business and consumers alike will support it.

The prototype has already been seen and I bet the delayed time frame for it to come to market is them buying time to see what they can achieve in regard to OS/Software. As for Google, I would not hold my breath waiting for them to enter in to any cooperative venture. They are a Monopolizing company and if this concept matures it might just brake there strangle hold on the market. As with governments competition is essential to keep them honest. It is what has resulted in a number of reforms in Microsoft. The same will do Google good and be to the benefit of the consumer. Don't for a moment think I am a die hard Microsoft fan. I do some software for the company I am employed with and the last few years I have had to deal with a lot of arrogance and lac of direction and long term standards. This makes any developers job a nightmare. Developing code if done properly is time consuming and thus costly and then with Microsoft's track record it might be unsupported by the Os in a few years time. This is the main reason Microsoft is struggling to find developers to invest in there ecosystem. This has led to the reform's in the way Microsoft is now doing things but it will take time to build confidence in them again. In conclusion for the consumers it is important that they remain in the market to offer competition and stimulate the market with new concepts and innovation.
This is another innovation from hp and it seems all perfect undoubtedly but if I could suggest that had it been with
"two sims" and "octacore" am sure there would have nothing been left after that. WOW great indeed.

It's the OS.
Windows 10 MOBILE still cannot perform the full functions of the desktop OS.
"Laptop-like" can never replace "being a laptop"
Sure, it can make calls and access your machine from far away via RDS but, at its current stage, it can't be at par with the standalone machines using a full OS in terms of performance, stability and reliability.
The dual boots were more innovative and should be the way to go until Google and MS put a stop to it (with the ASUS Book V leading the way to actually integrate Mobile to Desktop platform)
Yes, HP's take on this is innovative. However, it's not practical to use Windows 10 Mobile for business operations at its current stage. And by operations meaning NOT ONLY for presentations, simple word stuff, etc. We're talking about full blown business activities.
Are windows phones bootloader locked ?
Is it possible to install android on such a phone ?

The concept is a good one and innovative. Clearly the hardware will have to advance to reap the full benefit. this type of forward thinking should be encouraged and the brave venture into the unknown applauded. With time and the advances in hardware technology, it is conceivable and likely an x86 microprocessor or some sort of virtual application will result in PC functionality in a phone. A good example is the Microsoft surface that runs on a I7 processor. Before that happened many would not have thought it possible. That changed an industry's view with many other manufactures trying to emulate it and catch up. This benefits all consumers. Any CEO, Manager or professional will tell you one should always focus the positive and innovative, if you focus only on the challenges getting out of bed in the morning becomes pointless.
On the other hand, the Mobile Extender is basically a 12.5-inch diagonal display notebook form factor that wirelessly connects with the Elite x3 to offer a laptop-like experience. HP says the phone will be available this summer, although no exact date or month was mentioned. As for the price, it will be disclosed "closer to date of availability."

No, the 2 platforms are incomparable.
The previous iterations were using a fully functioning Desktop OS
This one utilizes the Windows 10 Mobile version which cannot run apps for the Desktop version.
Hence, the current platform, at its current state, cannot perform nor replace a FULL Desktop compared to the previous platform.

My argument is valid.
Any business entity out there, given the technology's current state, finds the Continuum as premature and impractical at the moment.
It can't replace a fully functioning desktop OS at the moment.
And, NO, RDS can't match the stability and performance of a fully working standalone desktop.
