yup... besides an att 2 yr contract requirement, the hardware and apps are different because it is locked and branded.
I prefer my smartphones unlocked and unbranded.

Is it me or has gsmarena run out of things to talk about lol. If i need news about every odd phone that comes out and its prices i can look in a catalogue. Been following this site for ages and a big fan. But keep the news newsworthy ;)

The US market is way late and by the looks of it used to living in the technology of last year. No wonder BlackBerry and iPhone are the top selling products instead of Nokia, Samsung, SE and Motorola.

SOSmonster, 26 Aug 2010I would not recommend the Vivaz to anyone, not even for 80 dollars. The camera may appeal but ... moreyeh the vivaz has good camera and design is pretty good too, but it's really the software/os that's the problem. Symbian is one of the worst os's for touchscreen atm. Even the N97 was such a fail and everybody is noticing. Android would have been better.

I would not recommend the Vivaz to anyone, not even for 80 dollars. The camera may appeal but the resistive touchscreen and clunky interface make it a nightmare to navigate. The phone has been out for ages everywhere else in the world and thusly is far behind the curve in terms of the software.

That is because every international high end smartphone need US approval to be launch. Nokia USA is also slow to release nokia smartphones that are being release in Asia and Europe.
