dont take this too serious, just speculations and business at the end of the day. whats worse is they didnt even include MeeGo...(ok ok its not even released yet)
Loadofbull, 31 Mar 2011Ah yes, the power of money. I just love how MS has the money and power to buy off analyst and ... moreAndroid is already No. 2, and with Symbian in the dustbin it'll go No. 1.
Windows Phone 7 will go to No. 2 because most people:
a. don't care.
b. think Microsoft is great.
err.. symbian MAY hit a comeback!! they are promising a lot!! these data is presented on the current rate and trend, but is not absolute. Lets see what happens in the near future.
BTW i feel that Android is hyped a LOT!! maybe its just another quick-fame-quick-death OS..
For all of you who posted against WP7, have you even try the WP7 at all? I am using a WP& and I am very impressed with the smooth operations on it. WP7 is nothing like the old Windows Mobile 6.5. WP7 will eventually be on top as the analysis said.
AnonD-1420, 31 Mar 2011Wow. I just checked out those SPB guys you mentioned and I have to say - I'm super impressed! ... moreThat's the thing. Nokia is dumping Symbian but S40 for WP when they could just work with these guys and ask them to make the UI for them. SPB's work is pretty impressive and it made me feel like I'm using a brand new phone and what's more impressive is that they can make their work run slick on less capable hardwares. I say Nokia should hire these guys.
Ah yes, the power of money. I just love how MS has the money and power to buy off analyst and to publish such bogus reports. Money money money.
And a POS OS lie Andriod as number 1? Yeah right, when the world is taken over by NERDS, then android will be on top.
AnonD-37, 31 Mar 2011I assume you're waiting for the N950 MeeGo. I really think Nokia became a pawn of Microsoft in... moreWow. I just checked out those SPB guys you mentioned and I have to say - I'm super impressed! I have an N97 Mini and their spiffy 3D UI seems to run pretty well even on that!
They won awards and critical praise from Nokia and many others, but for some reason Nokia didn't want to partner with them to produce the UI update that Sym^3 so dearly needs? *sigh* I hope that they secretly *are* working with SPB, as their work is really quite cool.
i think apple will have a larger share than %15-18. it is a poor opperating systym but it sells there is no arguing that
AnonD-4697, 30 Mar 2011You're righ...Pleople look for applications and Software..
Is nice to see some people don't... morePeople do care about applications - photo editor, mail client, media player, text editor,....
I see mobile applications getting more complex, more powerful. I'd say, pretty soon, mobile applications will totally replace pc/laptop applications, and only thin segment of market will be using Microsoft due to their professional needs.
Software market is shifting into mobile segment, and if you don't care about price, it doesn't mean that majority of users do not care about price either.
anon, 30 Mar 2011considering Symbian isn't going anywhere for at least 5 years, I find these figures a little d... moreLet see if what your say will came true.
I can't see any OS that better than Android for now.
If there is a better OS release in this year, than your prediction will be true. LOL
Anonymous, 30 Mar 2011except for the fact that OSX is highly subjective to trojans and attacks. Safari is the least ... moreAnd what did you prove? You only proved on my example that your own statement about every PC/laptop user with Windows on it, is a Microsoft fan is nonsense. Because majority of them will gladly switch from Windows as soon as they'll have an opportunity.
im sure that the begin of these brilliant analysis was like this : "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away"
their analysis is inaccurate and unreliable. The industry is far too unpredictable, new entrants can emerge just as android has in the last half decade. WP7 might not even exist in 5 years. And with the consistency of apple products, I doubt the iOS will lose market share to WP7. Also, the market share analysis only encompasses the number of units that have the software rather than the margins companies make from it. Therefore it will never be a reliable indicator for where people should buy shares.
These are just analizations, so don't count on it coz ios will swallow you all up..
AnonD-171, 31 Mar 2011even LG is shying away from WP7 LOL and same with samsung LOL HTC is the only one that is real... moreI assume you're waiting for the N950 MeeGo. I really think Nokia became a pawn of Microsoft in their quest to regain their lost smartphone spot.
Btw, I'm using SPB 3D on my Android device and I noticed on YouTube that SPB Shell runs smooth on the N8. I think Nokia can modernize their UI if they will partner with the SPB guys but they instead choose to partner with MS. If SPB can do that on an N8 then there's no problem with the UI and UX. Time will tell if that's the right move for Nokia.
AnonD-37, 31 Mar 2011I think these analysts are assuming that every Nokia user will convert to the WP platform. I k... moreeven LG is shying away from WP7 LOL and same with samsung LOL HTC is the only one that is really trying to push WP7
