Bought the Z1 Compact dir cheap and holding it is not uncomfortable at all. It feels really sturdy with the added thickness. Same goes for the iPhone 4 I have. Increased thickness also makes those phones heavier, and since our phones got so much bigger in recent years, making them 8-10mm thick would make them heavy which many don‘t like, and again, i don‘t mind it.
How? We go back to Symbian and stop using these glorified pocket web browsers.

But Xiaomi uses only inside cheap phones.
Mi 6 has only a bit over 3000.
Xiaomi phones need 5000mAh to last same of a Samsung, Sony or Motorola with 3800mAh
Standby "duration" of my phone is more than 70 days!
Sorry to say.
People complain about battery life but they keep hands on phone the whole day.
Play 2h or more of heavy games, watch tons of youtube videos at 1440p and 2160p.
Check Facebook notifications every 20 min.
Mobile internet.
We all have the right to use the phone the way we want, but be aware that this way no phone will be enough.
For few things like games I use tablet. My tablet can handle about 8h of Real Racing 3 if I set low brightness.
My tablet has weaker cpu/gpu and screen compared to my phone, but I do not choose graphics over battery endurance.
If you use your phone to work, it is okay... Many calls, videocalls, email, photos etc..
But using phone mainly for games and youtube is silly in my opinion.
It's useless with current phones. You just can't have a guaranteed 1 day of battery usage even at the beginning (Well except for a few phones like Mi max 2 and P2). Even if you do, the battery degrades fast (Usually an year later). So either way you have to carry a power bank.
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2017Don't do those: 1. Watching movies 2. Listening music 3. Playing games 4. Mobile data 5. ... moreOverall, don't use you phone barring when you'd emergency needs (main duty phone: connection)
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2017Don't do those: 1. Watching movies 2. Listening music 3. Playing games 4. Mobile data 5. ... moreOr just use feature phone. What's the point
Don't do those:
1. Watching movies
2. Listening music
3. Playing games
4. Mobile data
5. Opening gallery (images/movies) (Recommended: access to files only by file manager)
6. Black wallpapers in LCDs display and white wallpapers in Amoleds display
My secret: I carve out my shoes to hold a battery bank each and run a wire tucked under my armpit, just when I need it or any friends
I got up 5 days on my B Priv! See this for a few simple tips

Summarized:
* Stop and disable/uninstall all the bloat
* Mind the screen usage
* Take care where you place the device
Already got it. Lenovo P2.
LG g5 comes with 2800 mah battery which can last up to 48 hours on single charge. Its not all about thickness.
On average I have 5 days battery life. My phone is Lenovo P2. So 3-4 is not an option. I demand at least 5000mAh on every phone. Or if less, batteries must be user-replacable.
I think the consumer has forgotten how we all managed just fine with thicker phones. My Nokia E90 was about 2cm thick, but I hardly noticed. Id have a thicker phone again if it meant my phone would last longer.
Maybe a range of devices to cover certain needs would be better. I.e an internet enabled device aimed at users of messaging apps (whatsapp etc), so no need for a powerful cpu, big screen etc.
All i need is for my battery to:
* Last for a day even under heavy use
* Charge to 100% in less then an hour and 60 % between 25-30 minutes.
* Be user replaceable (not necessarily removable)
PS: Also note that battery size/capacity is very important although the writer did not insist on this in the beginning of the article. I know this is related to phone size as indicated at the end of the article but firms like Xiaomi and Huawei put larger batteries in their phones even though their phones are thinner and smaller in size than those of Samsung, Sony, HTC etc
I can live with a 8-10 mm thick smartphone but it seems manufacturers and many people don't think so.
Written by a self-declared Apple "fanman". You do realise there are other manufacturers in the world which are not Apple.....
Here's a solution: Fit a 5000+ mAh battery. Reap the rewards....

Until new battery technology is implemented there won't be any drastic battery life improvement. A couple of hours longer video playback is not going to provide significantly different experience in everyday use.
