YOUM - Thinner, lighter, unbreakable.

The technology replaces the glass layers within OLED and LCD displays with two layers made of film material, making it very light and almost indestructible. In essence, it will eat drop tests for breakfast!

You do not have to love it, but you will respect it.

Since 2013 Samsung has said "by the end of next year" regarding flexible phone. I wanted one, I still do, but it will not be a Samsung.

Samsung foldable phone postpone again, obviously they don't have real technology (I mean the massive R&D) to reaching their target. Just playing marketing and keep people from waiting until they lost their passion.

AnonD-441601, 10 Jan 2018Oh yes i almost fogot Kryocera was first foldable smartphone so samsung just copy. That is not true to honest they were just the first one to market as Samsung has been keeping the industry and press in the loop about there development for years. The other company just failed and did the easy thing of just sticking to phones together. It was total crap in it in it delivery

Instead of wasting resources and development time to research phones already made and failed to make accomplishments to the market.Start focusing more to offer in your mid range and entry level phones. You are using camera's sensors and quality on your 300-400$ phones that is from late 2015/early 2016 again and chipset that isn't offering much that snapdragon 430 or 625.And you are charging 600$ for A series that offer same specs as a 300$ phone.

I would personally much have preferred a version with TWO folds (three parts).

With one fold you get a tablet unfolded, and still a big phablet folded, and the aspect ratio will be odd. If two-fold we can have (about) 16:9 for both states. e.g. 65mmx116 respectively about 206x116mm that is 5.2 resp 9.3 inches.

And perhaps a compact variant for those with smaller hand/bags/pockets e.g. 55x98 and about 174x98 that would be 4.4 and 7.9 inches ....

This is why Samsung usually keep a fully functional mobile OS developed on the side, to get new tech out faster.

A lot of this would most likely be a non-issue had Google taken responsibility for the core of Android, with system and security updates. Unfortunately they don't really care, much due to their business model. It's almost at the point where Android can be described as in a state of antitrust.

I think Samsung this time is thinking correctly.

Axon M showed that Tablet of Android Kind are not so popular to boost the sale.

If I were the decision maker I would consider the following:

Snapdragon 835 achieved the goal of running full windows 10 and HP, Asus and Lenovo are in the train.

Phablets are big enough to do Android tasks.

With SD845 and 6GB RAM with 512GB Internal Storage, It is possible that a system becomes Dual boot and lag free.

So, This can be a Galaxy smartphone and a Ativ book of its kind.

When closed, Android Phablet/Smartphone as usual. When opened, A full functioning laptop.

In my opinion, this can attract potential customers.

A simple example:

An Owner of iPad (for specific apps which are available only in iPads), needs a computer either Windows or mac to do tasks in iTunes.

the iPad man needs a laptop and a smartphone and a tablet to carry around all the time to do tasks accomplished.

A foldable dual boot can make a shortcut:

1- Android is not laggy, buggy anymore.
2- Windows is available there with iTunes installed,
3- Items to carry around is just iPad little bag and Foldable Dual Boot in pocket.
