KamAbdi, 13 Nov 2018HAHAHAH XMM 8160 5G processor lol Intel is coming after Qualcomm SDM 8150 5G processor hahahahahahaAre you even aware the article is about a modem and not a cpu? They are separate chips for the foreseeable future
Anonymous, 13 Nov 2018Maybe Intel should just die. Everything they do, another does better.Think you living in a dream world...

I bet it uses the 14nm+++ process to make such a modem. Well, I'm glad 2G is still there. There are still billions who relied of SMS just as much as 3G/4G/5G chatting.
Well, that announcement is just PR, there's no product yet and hard to say when Intel will have one available. Even the picture of the chip (the one at the header of news) is photoshoped...

GOOGL, 13 Nov 2018Qualcomm with it's 8150 and then the Intel with it's 8160. Coincidence? I think not :DSD8150 is a mobile processor. The Intel XMM 8160 is a modem. That's a whole different thing
backwards compatability plus very broad lte support will make this chip the one to beat.

In the rush to market hope the standards were in place before implementation and not visa versa.
Thank you for making the XMM 8160 5G modem backwards compatible with all networks down to 2G, Intel.
