umeshk, 13 Dec 2018Ghanta resale value... it sells second hand at 40% of nee phone's price.... That's Ghanta though. In most markets the trade in value is quite good
Stan, 13 Dec 2018Value? Like what? My wife's old iPhone 6s is fetching $70 trade-in today. My ancient Note 4, ... moreFottere, did I say crazy? No I didn't. And the resale value is better. Trade in an iPhone 6 Plus and you can get 200 dollars off. Selling will also get you more money. And before you say eBay, that will probably not come with warranty. Amazon is where most people buy. I'm not trying to say this as a knock against Android, as I myself like to collect my old phones. But for those who either use the phone for 4-5 years and get to use all the updates or those who trade in their iPhone every 2 years, the value is substantial
Anonymous, 13 Dec 2018It's not just that; the Mate 20 Pro and Note 9 have way more going for them than the iPhones. ... moreYes but lets not get into technicals detalis...cuz while android deliver more ram...they have way way lower performance cuz of the os...on the other hand apple could add more but dont it...It's like with cpu if you have 4 cores 4 threds and 8 cores 8 threads and use an app who only knows how to use 4 whats the use of the extra....This is what android does yes more ram but the os eats 50% more than apple so pack for pack 6g is only 3...but yes camera wise android phones are better...battery wise apple is better again do to the os or rather iOS...and the fact that they charge mroe for fast charing is the same as with the lighting port...1 word for it greed...And when you take take take and dont give anything or give way to less...than well this happens and its hard to get back on the horse after a big hit....the higher you are the harder you fall..and atm apple is free falling
Alan, 13 Dec 2018you can get 150-200$ more for that 6s by selling it yourself rather than trading it in.
iphon... moreSame goes for the Note example.
On Ebay:
Note 4 goes for $120
Note 5 ranges from $190 to $250 *base model
iPhone 6s ranges from $200 to $250 *base model
Again, where is the value that you're talking about?
Duel83, 13 Dec 2018"more RAM"
Where it shows? You know iOS devices needs less RAM to work better than Android ... moreAndroid usually has very aggressive OOM values. That's with every android phone i had and i have had up to 2gb free and apps were still being killed.
Stock Android is like a stock MX5 - not very exciting, but has a lot of potential.
In 6 years using android device i have bought a non unlockable one *nokia 7 puss') and it the first phone i regret buying.
As with symbian so is with android - Nokia sucks.
It's just not worth getting a phone that will offer you mediocre performance for over $1000.
I'd never even consider purchasing an iPhone, but luckily my aunt is a huge Apple fan. I managed to hold an XS Max in my hands for an entire night, testing the camera and...it was...ok. To think that my Mate 20 Pro was cheaper and provided much higher quality pictures was rather sad.

Don't believe me? Check this newest Mate 20 pro vs XS Max speed test.
https://youtu.be/vRPxjwgqJKs Which one failed the RAM part and had to reload many apps? Hint it wasn't iPhone.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2018It’s so satisfying to see Apple is failing year after year. Hopefully in the very soon future ... moreWhy?
Don't like it? Don't buy it!
Some people like the iOS. I can't stand iOS, but I like Mac OSX. Its a godsend for software developers. Maybe i'll say the same thing about windows someday, if 'bash' becomes a native system shell. Linux is good and everything, but the stuttering on high end hardware has always been driving me a little crazy.
As for my phones. For the past few years, Android manufacturers have been making sub-par devices. It says a ton about the state of one or another flagship, where in order to decide you have to compromise for one or another nice feature.
HTC - software buttons
Sony - Not large enough screen, no OLED
Samsung - Always lagging OS updates, sub-par camera
LG - Boot-loop, sub-par camera
And worst of all, 99% of other phones have notches....

Optional, 13 Dec 2018Samsung isn't showing their sales numbers for years already. So it's business as usual for Samsung. But Apple is hiding something ... now.

This is good news! People starting to realize not to keep buying overpriced phone every year if the one they bought can still do its job.
Its only a waste of resources and causes pollution to keep buying phones or any electronic devices every year if they dont even recycle majority of it w/c are just thrown to other countries like Africa.

Mate 20 Pro has a better overall battery, more versatile camera (despite it not shooting 4k60fps video), much faster charging, IR Blaster, more RAM and (while I don't like Huawei's delivery on this) expandable memory. The Note 9 has the SAME quality camera (I can't tell whose is better honestly but at least Android allows for other camera apps), headphone jack, faster charging, an awesome stylus, more RAM, expandable memory, and bigger battery. When the iPhone's batteries aren't that great, doesn't have a headphone jack, doesn't have expandable memory, and only fast-charges when you pay extra, it's hard to justify its pricing.
