There are three models of P and Mate: Lite (lower end of midclass), P (higher end of middle class) and PRO (flagships). The difference between P Pro and Mate Pro is that P series are for fun (games, music, etc) and Mate's are business class phones...

My guess is P30 will use same camera sensors and setup like Mate 20 Pro but will lack FaceID, will probably have 3.5mm jack and lower resolution screen (1080) basically its going to be Mate 20X with smaller battery and screen size

Budget midrange ones are the Honor and Nova phones. Cheap build quality, slower chip, more modest hardware specs. But you get what you paid for.

My advice to Huawei: please do not be overly aggressive with the way the AI enhances the photography. The photos get sharpened too much on Huawei phones.
EMUI 9 has improved a lot, but it is still clunky and bloated. Huawei needs time to learn from its mistakes, just as Samsung had improved from the bad old days of Touchwiz.

Something tells me i... moreOr they just need to put an autofocus module on a 24MP sensor they're using right now. The sensor itself is decent, but the combination of relatively shallow depth of field and lack of autofocus is what's stopping the selfie camera from shining.

It makes me more excited to see the camera setup of the upcoming P30 Pro. Something tells me it's going to be glorious.
I really hope they ditch that mediocre 24MP selfie sensor though. They really need to put a top-notch 8+ MP AF snapper on the front.

P20 - Sony IMX380 1/2.3" sensor size, 1.55um pixel size.
Mate 10/pro - Sony IMX386 1/2.9" sensor size, 1.25um pixel size.
The same IMX380 sensor on P20 used on vanilla Mate 20, which has the biggest pixel size on a single sensor for mobile today. The quality approved.
P30 on the other hand, will using IMX600 1/1.7" sensor as last Mate 20 pro/P20 pro, which is good.

P20pro and mate 20pro have 3x zoom
5x zoom is digital. If p30 have 5x optical zoom, this is huge step forward at so small lens in phones.
