Anonymous, 10 May 2019How is it sloppy? ExplainSloppy was not the most accurate of words to choose, but the correct meaning is mini.

Rave, 10 May 2019At out current technology standard quantum computers are not possible for the near future and ... moreI really think it's time to start making dual-boot smartphones. One for Android and one for a real full-blown version of Linux or even windows, since the hardware can handle it.
I know this isn't for "regular users", but I'd totally buy one of those.
If you make it with a slider for laptop-like buttons I'm definitely buying it!
I'd rather have a laptop-like smartphone with querty buttons than a foldable one..
Let's hope it will happen!

I'm trying to let you know that someone on this comment section remind me that TSMC already announced in 2018, so that's mean even in 5nm process TSMC is already ahead of Samsung.

We all jump the boat of quantum... moreAt out current technology standard quantum computers are not possible for the near future and the next logical step would actually be to improve software as hardware is already pretty fast if we want exponential gains like in the 2008 or something we need better software

7nm, 5nm, 3nm...what ever they decide to call it...it means nothing anymore. Let's use 5nm as an example...they call it "5nm" commercially, but you won't find any distance in the semiconductor design that is 5nm in size. The gate- and metal pitch of the 5nm process is 44nm and 32nm is size. They should really change the commercial name to reflect the density rather than some thumb-sucked random number.

Walter C. Dornez, 10 May 2019Samsung actually did the same thing a few weeks backWell according to someone on this comment section it already announced in 2018 and also Samsung latest and greatest Exynos still on 8nm while TSMC already on 7nm so the Chinese/Taiwanese companies is ahead of Samsung.

So basically
1- Sloppy die shrink
2- Proper die shrink afterwards.

Tech is awesome. You get half the product now and then you are urged to buy the other half next year
