There's a massive flagship power-vacuum and user discontent in Europe, India etc. created by Samsung's arrogance of pushing Exynos 990 (overheating, horrible battery endurance), sub-par charging speed, only 60 Hz full-res screen and pushing Bixby as their default assistant.
This is a great opportunity for other smartphone makers to seize, most of whom already have all the ingredients right, except a top-spec camera. So e.g. I wasn't planning to buy a phone this year (due to Samsung shenanigans) but if something like this Xiaomi comes out, I will. And I'm sure many others will too.

I mean, Samsung had to step back a bit because they have a certain reputation to hold, Xiaomi is chinese company so nobody will be really surprised if their "120x" zoom will be just a completely useless blurry mess. People simply got used to chinese companies not being too honest with their marketing.

If the primary lens is 24mm, it means that the zoom magnification is only 5x.
Why would xiaomi go for 120x digital ffs, it'll look worst than the 100x Samsung's.
If the 5x zoom is 12MP (binned or not) the final result at 120x will be a 0.02MP crop

I said this for so many phones already, but none delivered so far.
