Xperias had Object tracking in both photo and video since forever but like a... moreGoogle might not introduced Object Tracking but made it really useful contrary to Sony. I still prefer Google Pixel Object Tracking system over Sony Eye Focusing. Anyway, I won't buy Xperia 5 II just because of missing TOF sensor. Having hard times for 5 month with Xperia 5 and its disappointing focusing system and camera app overall, I believe that Xperia 5 II will be no different.

Doesn't look any different from the camera performance in Xperia 1 ii. Sounds like great news to me.

I'm kinda considering buying a flagship this year, and I'm somewhat deciding between Xperia 5 II and Galaxy S20... The main reason why I'm hesitating with the Xperia 5 II is... Because it's way too damn large! I mean SHEESH whoever thought it would be reasonable to advertise this phone as "compact", I'd like some of the stuff they're smoking, it must be a bomb.

But for 99% Xperia 5 has DRAM because all Exmor RS got it :)

I knew of Alfa and RX series, but I had no idea DRAM was used for burst on second gen Xperia 1/5.
So in that case, only my Xperia 5 lacks DRAm :D

Fearghast, 06 Sep 2020It does not, Sony cut down the costs on DRAM on Xperia 5, 1 II and 5 II. Alfa 9 have DRAM and have 20fps but doesnt have 960fps. RX100m4 have DRAM and have 960fps. That first costs way much and both has Exmor RS (with DRAM). Xperia 1 II does have DRAM (for 20fps burst) but that DRAM have different purpose (read all pixels from sensor not only 1mpx 720p or 2mpx for 1080p). All Exmor RS sensors has DRAM. Exmor R doesnt have DRAM.

Xperias had Object tracking in both photo and video since forever but like all others including Pixel, it can't make a distinction what that object is, is it a car, or is it a living being? The whole point of eye tracking is that now it knows it's a face and the face will be the sharpest thing in the image.

But seriously its amazing that they put in this body 4000mAh, 120Hz screen and 120fps 4K HDR. Its unbelivable. World first 4K 120p HDR recording in smarpthone. Sony!

Not all moving objects have eyes, you know. I believe that Pixel's Object Tracking system which was introduced quite a while ago is a way more useful.
