Any reason I upgrade my oppo find x2 pro to meizu 18 pro? This GN1 sensor doesn't quite cut it. I have special custom sensor, and 2nd (again 48mpx) ultrawide with autofocus. And 5 x periscope zoom where the meizu is 3x.
And my phone is old now, in 7 days there will be his updated son, the x3 pro.

Anonymous, 04 Mar 2021Don't you even dare call a 6.2 inch compact There are only 14 phones worldwide with height lower than 155 mm, released in 2020 or 2021 with USB C. What would you call compact then?

sohail shafayat, 03 Mar 2021I'd like to make you understand that compactness and uniqueness are different thing. and ... moreI'd equate uniqueness as something uncommon. iPhone 12 mini is unique because of its compactness. It's the smallest current gen flagship, there's nothing smaller than that. I could count the amount of current compact flagships with one hand compared to rebranded phablets that come up every week. Normally people buy phablets due to its bigger size. Without the screen specs, there's nothing special about Meizu. That's the only factor of having to want a Meizu phone for me. Now I'm glad they're going back to QHD even if it's 20:9.

Huawei has been pushing the obnoxious curved screen fad since the Mate 30 Pro when Samsung is going back to flat screen due to it's practicality. The bezels are supposed to be there. Minus distortions, the actual screen real estate would bring it back to 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Also, it's Huawei not some tiny startup company so they can afford to ask and pay custom made panels that are tailored for their requirements. Meizu is miniscule. The last phone that had unusual screen specs was the MX4 Pro.

Pro is a marketing term that may or may not be very different. In this case, I see it as the bigger version. The use of GN1 sensor is good change.

- Dolby is not gimmick. It is one type of HDR. Just like HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG.
- You cant record 8K with 12MP. Probably A14 is not capable of 4K@120. Video recording resolution is up to what sensor and cpu can handle. All phones with 865/865+ can do 4K@120 in theory. Only Asus and Sony chose to offer.

The market is flo... moreI'd like to make you understand that compactness and uniqueness are different thing. and they could make custom OLED screens like Mate 40 Pro which actually has a 18.5:9 curved screen with even a totally unusual pixel definition of 1344 x 2772p and 74mm wide! I want to add that I'm not talking about the base version, I'm talking about the Pro, Pro should be Pro, not fancy.
