It a feature that more and more companies are trying to run away from. Like the Charger in the box issue.
Already using pixel 4a. Not excited to buy the 5a or 6
Maybe wait till 7 or 8.
One persistant problem with Google flagships is that they launch in October and become fully available in November, three months before the competition introduces the next generation of SOCs.
The only benefit I can imagine from a delayed implementation of the latest chips is that it gives time to more fully exploiting their capability.
Google tried, starting in 2020, to underplay the importance of chips by releasing phones with mid-range processors, and now seems to blur the issue by using a proprietary SOC. It’s most recent real flagship contender dates back to 2019 (Pixel 4/4XL), shifting back to high end devices may well he be an attempt to mimc Apple’s policy of providing an arguably over-powerful chip set even in its least expensive phones.
I'm not one for large phones and my pixel 3 remains awesome, size, longevity, dual camera front, awesome speakers. But the 6 main chip combined with the neural core etc and a brand new 50mp sensor with stellar algorithms, android 12 sounds friggin awesome package.
Hope for clear stereo speakers
6 inch version
Matt back
Backward and forward increment arrows on keyboard
Screen shot toggle from power button, it use to be there as an option and great for disabled people as is pixel native T9 alphanumeric option
not waiting for the 5a just gonna get the 4a 5g
Step right, two steps back.
I hope the whitechapel chip means that Google will be able to provide security updates for longer, at least 5 years, like Apple does.
That said, I'm not really into the giant camera hump. I think the cameras on the Pixel phones have all been very good. I like having a flat back. I don't need whatever extra camera ability is possible, that requires a hump that adds several millimeters of thickness to the phone.
guess imma stick with my ol'-reliable Pixel 3
Denk, 25 May 2021No memory card? Nahbruh
google has never had memory card support
i dont know how to wait for 5 more months looking at the state of the current pixel of mine
Imagine, 25 May 2021Read the article. It's for handling image processing and AI tasks, not a CPU.You should be the one reading the article. SoC is basically CPU +other thing.
Whitechapel is indeed a Google customer exynos soc
Denk, 25 May 2021No memory card? NahThis will be the future. I am not saying is good or bad, but people will need to get used to it.
Even some budget models from Xiaomi or Realme have started ditching the micro sd card.
Besides, with internal storages becoming faster and faster, is not that bad. Also, phones nowadays have easily 128 or 256 Gb options (and not too expensive either).
Why do people want more storage than that? To make videos in 4k or 8k on their 300EUR phones? Lol.
If you don't want to wait until Oct then Pixel 4a5g often on sale down from £499 to £399 is a bargain. Slap on official case and black slab looks pretty and projected. Stereo speakers, great battery, headphone socket, and an amazing camera (with wide angle). Static grey case looks brill for me 😁
Nice! I can't wait to finally have a pixel agian I haven't had one since the pixel 2xl but I can already tell this is my next phone!
Anonymous, 24 May 2021750 is between 855 and 865.
This is why Pixel 5a is gonna use 765 instead of 750.
To keep... moreLMFAO, totally wrong.
