AnonD-152742, 19 Apr 2014 One more time: Where is Nokia ???Nokia has passed away long time ago. Where have u been to? Just come back from traveling after living in overseas for a couple years
I agree that Note 3 is the best phone made in History, but I don't agree that it beats S5 in specs but it will beat it in everyday need of a phone. I've been using Iphones, Nokias, Sony and many other phones. The best phone I've ever used is NOTE 3.
I must say Note3 is the best phone ever made in the history of smartphones it even beats the S5 in every aspect.
AnonD-134497, 18 Apr 2014There is a simple answer to your question and that is "Windows Phone". Same thing if... moreI don't think you understood what I was saying. The 1020 doesn't even make up 3% of the "Windows Phone" category. That's not including Android or iOS. That's pretty bad for a flagship device in such a small pond. I'll say it again, Neither the Lumia 1020 or 1520 have made it out of the "other" category in the "Windows Phone" ecosystem. NOT counting Android or iOS.
There hasn't been a big drop off in "windows phone" sales, or any windows phone flagship device, because it didn't have a huge upsurge in the first place. You have to go up before you can come down. Yes, there were a few other companies that are going to try Windows Phone, but there is no indication that this will be any different than what Samsung, LG, HTC or Huaweii are doing. Which is to get Microsoft to pay for them to try a little experiment on the side while they focus most of their talent on Android.
I get that you're passionate about WP, but Microsoft has no sense of urgency when it comes to that platform. The Nokia devices are great, but Microsoft needs to do their part. It should not have taken a year and a half for MS to release WP8.1 after WP8. If that continues, WP will not have a bright future.

SG note 3 is the best thing Samsung has ever produced. I am not a fan of big phones but this is absolutely fantastic. I have a custom made moto x and a best camera phone 1020 and I am happy with it.
AnonD-134497, 18 Apr 2014There is a simple answer to your question and that is "Windows Phone". Same thing if... moreGelvin, I know you are using WP and is happy with it and believe it has a good future. But I feel WP future is big question mark. Simple reason is - Till end of 2013, Android did not have even one decent performing low end/low cost device like Lumia 520/525 to compete against WP in low end segment.
You buy any android phone for $200 or less, it would start lagging within a week. Battery drain was another problem. Slowly that is changing. We are getting mobiles with Cortex A7 quad core & 1GB RAM, Kitkat for about $240 now (moto g). It would become cheaper in another 6 months. At that stage, WP has to match Android in terms of games/apps/functionality to compete against android. And low end android devices will appeal more to people than low end WP devices. So I am not sure how WP is going to grow further.
AnonD-134497, 18 Apr 2014There is a simple answer to your question and that is "Windows Phone". Same thing if... more"Windows Phone has a bright future"
I predict windows phone future be very opposite than bright.
The fact that only nokia can sell windows phones and even those are the cheap phones like 80-90% of all windows phone sales.
It tells that almost only people who buy windows phone are new smartphone customers, people who already have hi end android or iPhone has already something better so there isnt much reason to change to wp phones and thats why windows phone hi end phones doesnt sell.
And soon when nokia doesnt sell windows phones anymore the whole wp is in huge problems. It already shows in homeland of nokia, people stopped buying windows phones.

Theres nothing impressive for company to sell cheap phones and gain marketshare, impressive would be if the hi-end windows phones would have done that and nokia would have made good amount of money and still having phone business.
Not sure how you even saying things like impressive when the fact is nokia lost their phone business because they only can sell cheap phones which doesnt make profits almost at all so company cant survive.
Sorry to say but thats not impressive at all.

Striker, 18 Apr 2014I still wonder, why the f... people still buy Samsung?! If you want an Android phone there are... moreYour one complaint about Samsung is what you call cheap plastic materials. Okay for you we get it you don't like Samsung. But one thing about Samsung's flagship phones is you get a ton of options. Options not only on the phones, but options that other OEMS don't give you. If you have any of the Galaxy SX devices you can get different back covers from Samsung or 3rd parties. Covers that will give you wireless charging, flip cover cases, even back covers with double capacity batteries. There is even a 3rd party vendor that has made a 5600mha battery and back cover for the new S5 which was just released recently. Please list all the flagship phones out there that offer as much as the Samsung Galaxy line of devices. You will be hard pressed to find one.

Same thing if would have launched wiht Android... Well, no idea where it would since I am not that good in predictions. 1020 was hell of a device to carry around. I have one and I know how much capable it is especially after installing Windows Phone 8.1
The title is about Windows Phone. Not the category of which model sold, right? Even though, Windows Phone is a cheap device selling company. But, talking about Apple. Making cheap but quality products isn't their style. So, it's not even comparable. They make flagships only which only sell in great quantities in the beginning but sales go flat after 2-3 months. This hadn't happened with "Windows Phone" notice how I use Windows Phone instead of a model.
Most of the people buy low-end Windows Phone because they don't want to waste their hard earned money on something they have no idea what would it do for them. Before, it was only Nokia struggling but now, it will be more than just Nokia. Microsoft is just lazy. They tried to be the new Apple but beaten down to the ground. I hate Steve Balmer. He took many wrong decisions in the past and because of him, Microsoft went from top to bottom, despite of the fact that it is still earning record revenues.
Windows Phone has a bright future, now, because many manufacturers have jumped their ships. Advertising will be now more for WP.

It's from end of the February 2014. More recent.
Every veteran was once an amateur. Every successor was once a beginner. Of course, things should have to be started at some point. As for talking about Windows Phone. The countries where Windows Phone took over Apple were not under developed countries. They are developed countries like Italy. See that chart, look how much in February, 2014, Apple lost ground while Windows Phone gained in many countries. Isn't that a fact?
Talking about other OEMs. How many OEMs were before February MWC 2014? Only one. Nokia. Rest were HTC, Samsung, Huawei which weren't even doing anything about Windows Phone. Therefore, invalid argument. Nokia alone sold as much Windows Phone(hated by most). Their victory over Apple is really impressive since many of you thinks "Windows Phone is biting dust in shelves", isn't it?
And you don't need to be proud over this. Remember what Apple was before iOS and Apple is now? Remember what Nokia was in 2005-2006 and what Nokia is now? We shouldn't forget the past ;)
Striker, 18 Apr 2014I still wonder, why the f... people still buy Samsung?! If you want an Android phone there are... moreBillions of dollars in marketing. Samsung spends MUCH MUCH more on trying to convince people to buy their stuff than anyone else, even Apple. Most Samsung buyers don't know whats on the market. They just walk into the store and buy the name. Sony also needs to get their supply chain in order. Z2s should be flying off the shelves right now, but most of them can't even make it out of the factory yet.
AnonD-134497, 18 Apr 2014Real? These are from September 2013 when Apple launched iPhone 5S. Of course, a new flagship c... moreThe sad thing about your comment is that you forgot Nokia released the their flagship, the much anticipated Lumia 1020, at around the same time as the iphone 5S was released. It didn't make much of a blip in the market. The even sadder thing is that according to adduplex, the numbers that WPCentral quotes, neither the Lumia 1020 nor 1520 have made it out of the "other" category. That means they each make up less than 3% of the Windows Phone ecosystem.
As for European sales, of course Windows Phone will overtake iOS. Most of the phones they sell are in the extremely low end of the market, which is larger than the high end. The very cheap Lumia 520/521 make up almost 40% of worldwide Windows Phone sales. It's not really a valid comparison to Apple or even Sony or HTC. Windows Phone sales are much more comparable to low end Android OEMs like Huaweii and ZTE.
I don't mean to beat up on Windows Phone, but Microsoft squandered their potential and opportunity. Windows Phone is increasing being associated with the low end of the market everywhere.
