really badly wanna know the release date on this phone, work in a phone shop and use this site for intel so please please come up with on lol, changing my phone in roughly 3months time so caught between this i8910 (i have i8510) and (if there is one) new iphone, failing that the 3g.

jc, 26 Mar 2009oh man....if i'm only going to see something like nokia's sucky touch-interface then im never ... morewell word is (from gsm conference) the initial unit's touch interface is already smoother than the coveted iphone so here's to hoping.. especially since it will have the obvious feature set missing from the half baked apple pie - yet with a matching or surpassing user experience (which you must admit apple did well on despite its failings)

(Oops pressed the submit button)...well I would love SE if they shed some lights on it's image/video capability..is there any internal memory and of course the battery. So far I don't see any official word from SE at all. Too much discussion doing the rounds about Exmor. Where is the official announcement that idou will have exmor and it will have HD video? Why announce a phone that will come up next year. By that time of course we will have 12mp HD phones in the market. Isn't it a publicity stunt? ..too much!

oh man....if i'm only going to see something like nokia's sucky touch-interface then im never getting this. user-interface is what made sony ericsson famous in the first place and keeps fans loyal despite criticism and lack of innovative designs. they'd better not stray too far from their strongest selling point.

i think sony adopting a symbian os would be a problem coz u see these os sucks and crash often.....they should made their own os like apple do

Great !I like Sony product very much with its good quality!
Two years ago I bought a Sony walkman at Tradestead for english studying ,it works very good and really give me a big help , I like it very much. I will wait for it and get one for myself!

I swear that SE built fit and finish material is simply smoother and more attractive.
My wife just got the Nokia 5800 and somehow, it looks pretty on the images, but not so much in real life... (Except E71... The picture of that phone simply cannot do justice to the real thing)
This was not the case back then (N80, N90, The Communicator, etc)
Hope this Idou looks much better in real than in pictures...

SE is getting really weak.
15-18mm thick brick for 2010 and 2011 ?
12mp camera?
with a lousy lens? what for you need 12mp.
I prefer 5-8mp but with a decent lens.
Lastly, but not least. Recent reports of 1000mAh battery.
SE has nothing but trouble with batteries recently.
1000mAh ridiculously weak.
LiPo would be nice but SE unable to produce a reliable one.
Nice concept, dated 2008.
Somebody at Se left it in a draw for 2 years and no it is too late to make it.
Who will make it. X1 was done by HTC - a fiasco.
SE swears never let HTC to make another SE model.
Sagem? They make SE phones.
There is no way this model will be out this year.

Anonymous, 25 Mar 2009if sony sucks, why does almost all nokia phones function sooooo slow?Explain how Nokias are slow, from my past experience of using series 90, 80 to current series 60 5th edition, the user experience has been mostly pleasant so specify how Nokias are slow unless you're some kind of shortsighted fanboy without any emphasis to validate or back your rather flawed uneducated opinion.

Thats a realy nice phone by sony ericsson. I am fan of se java phones cz they are realy fast and filed with the greatest features for a java phone but when it comes to symbian OS believe be nokia is real king of symbian. I love both brands. Nokia and Sony ericsson and i have used lots of se phones, currently using nokia e51 i.e my second nokia phone. Guys if u ever say that nokia is slow thn i think u have just seen old phones of nokia cz my e51 is realy rocking. Its java speed is same as se java phones + it has symbian OS 9.2
The point in symbian phones is to get softwares for your symbian version and there are alot more softwares for nokia symbian phones then any other brand producting symbian phone. I hope u all will agree with this. Any way for ppl using phone for normal use as phone, music, camera sony ericsson is a better choice then nokia but when u want a real business phone then go for nokia.
