vivo is working on the V80 Lite 5G, the first member of the V80 family, which according to a recent rumor should become official around the middle of this month.

The V80 Lite 5G has been spotted in the Google Play Console with the model numbers V2576, V2643, and V2644. Interestingly, the V2576 model number is also listed in the Google Play Console for the vivo S2, which is launching in India on August 6.

This situation strongly implies that the V80 Lite 5G will be a rebranded vivo S2 for other markets. If that's the case, then, like the S2, the V80 Lite 5G may have a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with "1.5K" resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset, a 50MP main camera, a 2MP decorative sensor, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 7,050 mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. The S2's IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance could also carry over to the V80 Lite 5G.

A V series with a decorative lens? Wow, Vivo has fallen. One of the great things about the V series is they used to have all useful camera sensors. I guess those days are over. The age of downgrades is literally here.

100 MHz difference in CPU and 100 GFLOPS difference in GPU. So basically the same thing.

8MP ultrawides look more forgivable compared to those with decorative lenses and 5MP ultrawides, at least.
