vivo X Fold6 in for review

The vivo X Fold6 is now globally available, so let's unbox it.

Our unit ships with a case, an 80W charger, and a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Cases for foldables usually latch onto just the "rear" part of the phone, which is also the case here. The one provided in the box is pretty nice, with a textured surface that adds grip.

The case is nice, ditto having a charger in the box

Now that vivo finally gave us a global foldable, which phones does it compete against? One obvious choice is the Honor Magic V6, and it stacks up to the vivo surprisingly well. Both are a very similar size, and both have very similar capabilities.

The vivo has a distinct advantage in battery size and camera hardware, well, main camera hardware, with a larger 1/1.4-inch 200MP sensor vs a 50MP 1/1.56-inch on the Magic V6.

The Honor foldable has matte displays on both sides, which some love and others are skeptical of. It's a matter of personal taste.

We'd consider capabilities equal on both, but each has its own unique look and style of doing things.

Then there's the price. It's as of yet not official on the vivo, but we expect around €2,200. The Honor is quite the bargain in comparison at €1,650 at the time of the article.

In the hand, the vivo X Fold6 feels well-built and regular-sized. It's around the same size as a Galaxy S26+, but with the obvious uptick in thickness and weight. Though, at 228g, it's no chonker.

Compact cover screen and a large folding one

The vivo X Fold6 brings some impressive camera credentials for a foldable. Its main camera is very impressive on paper (and on initial impressions as well); its 70mm zoom is also on the upper end of premium (for a folding phone), and the Zeiss branding (along with vivo's expected prowess in the field) is an indication of a solid imaging system. We'll see; stay tuned.

We're off to do some testing. Hopefully the availability and final pricing will be available by review time!
