OnePlus 16 display specs confirmed

The OnePlus 16 is going official next week and ahead of the big unveiling, the brand revealed more key info for the upcoming flagship.

The phone will be equipped with a BOE X4 LTPO OLED display. The panel is set to bring 1.5K resolution and up to 185Hz refresh rate, though the max 185Hz will only be available in gaming mode. The phone will run at up to 165Hz in everyday tasks, but you’ll be able to “unlock” the extra 20Hz in supported gaming titles like Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future, Naruto Mobile, and Peace Elite.

OnePlus confirmed the panel is using BOE’s X4 luminescent material and that it can reach down to 1nit hardware brightness for low-light usage. OnePlus also bragged about the panel’s low power draw, comparing it to that of a 120Hz display.

OnePlus 16’s display also brings extensive eye-care features, including TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 6.0. It will reportedly feature 1.15mm-sized bezels and use a LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) manufacturing process. There’s a custom display chip, a dedicated chip for touch response, and another chip for connectivity.
