Nothing Android Firmware Updates

Nothing started its open beta program for Nothing OS 5.0 based on Android 17 back in late August, and today the company is finally ready to roll out the new OS version to everyone. Well, everyone who owns a Nothing Phone (3), that is.

The rollout has started, but it is staggered, so "availability may vary by region and device", the company says in its official announcement post. To manually check for the update on your Nothing Phone (3), go to Settings > System > System update.

The update brings with it a redesigned launcher, a new Micrographics clock face, a new design with deeper personalization, better performance, improved Essential AI tools, as well as everything Google packed into Android 17.

The next devices to get the stable version of Nothing OS 5.0 should be the Nothing Phone (4a), Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, Nothing Phone (3a), and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro in early November. In mid-November the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus will follow, while the Phone (3a) Lite should receive the new software in late December, before the Nothing Phone (4b) and the CMF Phone 2 Pro both get it in mid-January.
