According to sources familiar with the matter, Apple will enter the augmented reality market sometime in 2020 with a headset of its own. The source also revealed that the company will announce a new MacBook with ARM-based processor.
The AR headset's form factor and use case are unknown at the moment, but we do know that it will feature holographic displays. Next year's iPhones will get AR capabilities as well, with the help of 3D ToF sensors on the back. Along with the design revamp, the phones will also get new OLED-based 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7-inch displays.
MacBooks, on the other hand, will welcome new member or members to the family running custom ARM-based processors. This will give Apple deeper control over the cores and further improve battery life.
