Great phone. Been using it for 3 months without any problem until one morning, as i power on, memory card was corrupted. Still on the learning curve and no backup yet. Used the opportunity to upgrade firmware thru Nokia care for free. But I have to install applications one by one.
Nokia E71's new Firmware is available. Please update it through Nokia PC Suite. Its over 100MB and I have already done it. Its a bit faster now.

SHAIMA, 02 Jul 2009hi im using n95 8gb but i want n71 should i go for it?Don't. Why would you want to downgrade from what you're using now? its up to you to decide whether to downgrade or not but remember, if you do you will be one of the people who will complain about the sounds, the small-ish display, and poor camera performance, etc...
Anonymous, 02 Jul 2009hi guys, jus bought my e71 and im happy with it. i have a question, it doesnt say on the manua... moreThose are not teeth. they are the connectors that connect to their counterpart in the phone. And we just slide the connector in and out. No lifting or pressing anything. Just like any USB dongle has the gold connectors.
This is the first time ever I'm making a complaint about a Nokia device which I own and and unfortunately it it this very handset, the E71.
After the firmware update the phone performed absolutely brilliantly until now. The phone started to freeze all of a sudden. Tried formatting the memory card, restoring original factory settings none of which helped me until I re-installed the firmware.
So what I just wanted to tell you guys is that if your phone gives any of those symptoms just do the firmware re-installation or upgrade it and you will be just fine.
Rishi, 01 Jul 2009Is Nokia E71 Blackberry compatible?? What is the price that u get it for in KolkataNeither the E71 or E66 is blackberry compatible. Nokia launched their own e-mail client so none of the newly launched E-Series devices are blackberry compatible. Older versions such as the E51 is blackberry compatible though.
This is phone has never let me down, as an Electronics Engr. I am impressed with both its Hardware & Software capabilities especially its speed of operation. (I have used it for about a year)
However, so far, the only "drawback" is its battery life, though a better battery would have translated to a more expensive phone & incompatibility with other E series phones.
Bottom-line: Kudos to Nokia!
when i try to play videos from the web(utube)i'm asked to play them via flash player and when i select it it dos not want to play and does not give me an error massege

Can anyone recomend me software for adding adicional szmbols while typing, thanks in advance
hi guys, jus bought my e71 and im happy with it. i have a question, it doesnt say on the manual how you connect or disconnect the usb cable. do you "yank" it out slowly, or do you have to lift if either up or down to pull the usb cable out?? as you may have noticed the usb cables connector has "teeths" on its end, and i guess it has a special purpose their other than to hold the cable securely... i hope i can read some credible replies soon. thank you

AGPS is HW and assiciated SW function. If ur mobile has it then any GPRS would do. GPRS is still required, I think.

actually I want to ask that for using AGPS, u have to take service from ur service carrier or it will work just like ordinary GPS device, means they dont need any service, they just do that job directly receiving signals from sattelites.
