Do you feel these feature is serving you any better practically than any other phone in market w/0 this feature.
I tried to play a HD 1280 x 544 res movie but N8 failed. But it played a 654 x 288 DVD movie without much lag. ( It was not so smooth though ).
But when I tried to play the same HD video on Sony ericsson X10 in Sony Ericsson showroom it played but with a bit of a lag. So atlease some use of having Snap Dragon 1 Ghz processor.
I tried N8 for about 30 to 40 minutes and would say its a good handset with plenty features but its not a ultimate winner as many have praised it to extremes.
If you have used Nokia N900 you will immediately say its hard to give away the ergonomics and features of N900 for Nokia N8.
But I am eagerly waiting to see if E7 could be any better but not sure if Full focus 8 mpix camera would do E7 any justice. I dont understand why Nokia finds it hard to give a complete handset. Auto focus camera on E72 but a new E7 just with fixed focus.
Nokia's strategy of cutting corners have brought down the company but still Nokia has not given up its practice.
God help Nokia.

Guys, just wanna know the proper initial charging of the phone. should I discharge it completely before charging it or should I charge completely before using it.
@rajesh nokia is providing us the {female} hdmi connector you have to bye a hdmi cable{male} connect it in to female hdmi connector and use it.
Fact: Read all the reviews and they all bar-none confirm the N8 has the best hardware - Camera and HD video quality.
Call quality is excellent. I have had the phone 2 months with no issues. For me it just works. I paid 300 pounds for a grey/black sim free on ebay. Compare that to the Iphone 4. 500-600 pounds sim free. problems with signal quality and an ok camera. So what if iphone has better apps - most apps are absolute rubbish anyway! For the price of the iphone it should have the best of everything and that it does not! Nokia have done well with the N8. It is not perfect but it will improve significantly with PR1.1 and PR2.0 updates which should be released soon!!
amk, 27 Jan 2011can anyone tell me wat does USB on d go means??? Plzzz...USB on the go is a function of the phone to read flashdrives and thumbdrives. There are several flash/thumbdrives that are not compatible with the phone. The phone displays an error when it cannot read the flash/thumbdrives.

Is N8 is the best Phone this Day?
Rajesh, 27 Jan 2011Hi N8 friends, I am confused and need you all to help me solve the questionaire about N8.
O... moreHi Rajesh, let me see if can calrify some of your questions. The Hdmi cable provided is an adaptor, not the cable itself, it´s to connect the HDMI cable (of your tv) to the usb jack on the phone.
About the 1080p movies I haven´t tried yet so I donn´t know.
About the resolution I guess it has to do with compatibility issues with previous symbian devices (just gessing), I also read that it´s a resolution that fits better media content (I´m not sure). Anyway I can garantee that you won´t notice the diference between a higher resolution screen. The screen is gorgeous by the way and very sensitive, it´s true that samsung introduced the technology a few years ago, but Nokia´s treatment of the screen is excellent.
I just got my n8 two weeks ago, but I did a lot of research before buying it, and let me tell you that it´s an amazing phone, it´s giving me more than what I expected. No lagas, no hangs, excellent performance.
Great gaming experience (I didn´t buy the phone for games, but it turned out that I´m having a great time playing games on the phone), and many of these great games are free!
About the real shortcommings of the n8 (web browser, social integration, etc) in this forum or other sites you will have options (apps) to improve your phone (easily and for free).
What´s also great it´s that with nokia in charge of Symbian you know that your phone will be updated for a long time, even with a new UI (formely known as symbian 4). I think it´s the only phone right now that won´t be outdated in the near future, cause when you buy an android, you´ll never know what update policy X brand will have for your device.
To sum up, I relly recommend this phone!
Rajesh, 27 Jan 2011Hi N8 friends, I am confused and need you all to help me solve the questionaire about N8. O... moreJust buy it. There will always be better handsets in the future but for now, the N8 camera and HD video is number one!
Have my N8 for a Week and it's the best phone i ever had. Is quick, responsive, great specs......

Hi N8 friends, I am confused and need you all to help me solve the questionaire about N8.
One thing I know for sure is N8 has almost a best camera for still imaging. For video I would rate it 8/10.
Today I went and had a second look at Nokia N8 in the Nokia showroom. Now I am a confused person as s0 much talk about N8 which has made me inquisitive about its best features.
It has a HDMI output which is a feature Nokia is a first company to bring it to mobile market. But why has Nokia provided such a small 4 inch cable to connect to a TV. How are you supposed to reach a TV through such a short cable. Do you have to stand beside the TV and hold the N8 in your hand and try to peep on the material N8 is transmiting on TV. Funny.
HDMI in is found only on HDTV. which means N8 is supposed to be able to play HD videos. But when I tried a HD video on N8 it got stuck and it could only manage to play normal lower DVD resolutions only.
Amoled Capacitive screen was introduced by Samsung a year ago.
N8 is only stuck with 360 x 480 res display where as my Nokia N900 which is six months only has a whopping 800 x 480 pixels which make internet browsing a boon.
N8 has a video HW accelerator chip which makes it a capable gaming device. How many games are available in market which uses this chip.
USD OTG, remember O2 flame which as a USB reader 3 years ago? Well any body of N8 user feels it is a must to have feature. Please tell me what have you used this feature for and if can you live without it?
Symbian 3 has some improvements which has been stated here by some users. Can you please explain what features has it got which were not present on Nokia N97 or similar products.
Is N8 a winner only because of its 12 mpix high quality imaging capability. Thats it???
I am really confused and need you all N8 users guidance if N8 is really worth a buy or should wait for better handsets coming in near future. Heard Nokia is producing future handsets with high res screen and 1,2 ghz processor to compete in the fast moving market to cover up their losses in last 2 years.
Good luck to you all.
look n8 has indeed a good specs to boast of.new apps will be available for n8 for sure as nokia shown us the same till date.may be android has more useful apps but are you thinking that android conserves battery charge?with lot of app open android can drain up battery faster than symbian.and as nokia has decided not to use android they will try their level best to improve symbian for their existance. So it gives us good hope about nokia.and sound clarity of nokia phones is of best class which is equal to se phones. No other phones have good sound clarity.and nokia posses a good market value for second sale.its proved that n8 has good popularity too.buying n8 wont be a waste for sure.defects in any n8 will be rectified by nokia. And nokia is providing additional one year free service coverage for a nominal amount.
