look n8 has indeed a good specs to boast of.new apps will be available for n8 for sure as nokia shown us the same till date.may be android has more useful apps but are you thinking that android conserves battery charge?with lot of app open android can drain up battery faster than symbian.and as nokia has decided not to use android they will try their level best to improve symbian for their existance. So it gives us good hope about nokia.and sound clarity of nokia phones is of best class which is equal to se phones. No other phones have good sound clarity.and nokia posses a good market value for second sale.its proved that n8 has good popularity too.buying n8 wont be a waste for sure.defects in any n8 will be rectified by nokia. And nokia is providing additional one year free service coverage for a nominal amount.

I love the nokia n 8 but its so expensive,currently i use the nokia n 900 since september 2010,witch phone is better the n 8 or the n 900?

I've had the phone since last November and it has not crashed once, I have not seen a memory full message either. I play some games, browse the web a bit and use it to watch full length feature films on my wide screen tv.
My friend had a different phone connected to his TV and was blown away by the phones picture and sound quality 5.1 DTS or something.
Phone calls, with the phone or skype are great, txting with swype or the normal keyboard is a breeze. I've never noticed a lack of home screen customisations. I use the phone to make calls etc it makes my day and life easier, it is not my life or an excuse for one. It's a phone at the end of the day. Came here looking for news on the upgrade, I'm surprised to see all the knocking from none N8 users, have you people got nothing better to do.

after 3 months of using the n8 i am so disappointed about this phone. Nokia failed again to deliver a good experience this phone cant do anything right. the camera is good and thats all every thing else not working
browser crash randomly and very slow
the menu always hang ( just cant scrolling )
battery is week
social network now better but still not very good
push email not working probably
video player cant play long movies
memory Full notification
and so many other bugs
sure this is my last nokia

Is this phone better than Samsung GalaxyS and Iphone4.
When I last checked Iphone4 didnt have 3G (it had but only with in Apple phones). Can some one tell me whats the best phone to buy.

Anandtech had done a benchmark
test comparing all the high end
phones including N8, iphone4 and
nexus S to name a few. I was disappointed about N8
performance particularly in the
RightWare Browsermark Test. Anandtech quoted stock browser at 4627 for stock browser and 5957 for Opera Mobile 10. It was very low compared to iphone and android
So we decided to do this test on our N8s. I also found that the score varies with the speed of internet connetion.
It varies between 4200 to 4800 for
stock browser.
When we tested on Opera 10 the
results were higher than those of
Anandtech. We managed to get a 9600 with opera mobile. Possibly anandtech used an older version
But these results were still very low
compared to nexus and iphone. Even
the iphone 3GS scored much better.
However guys at Maemo.org have found out the "reality" about this test. They created a fake iPhone's user agent on N900 browser, so browsermark will think N900 is a iPhone And the result: N900 with iPhone's User Agent : 18340 points N900 with default User Agent : 7680 points It clearly means that Apple and google
are paying Rightware for better
results.
Currently we dont have any software
to confirm this on N8. But you can be sure about the fact that N8's browsing capabilities are not that bad

hi, guys. Just a quick question on the message capacity. How many messages can this phone store internally? My Sony Ericsson C901 can store more than 10,000 messages and still no dent on the used memory (well, in reality you really can't compare an older model like C901 to N8, but this is just a question regarding capacity).

Just listen carefully an you can hear the angels on the litle clouds above you playing their little harps everytime you use an N8. Thats how good Symbian is, and thats how smart it was of Nokia to use Arm11 processor. Symbian is so light and miraculous that it doesnt consume battery at all. I read it here so it must be true, or are u calling all those N8 fanbois liars??

Phone will last those number of days if you almost don't use it which is not why you bought this phone for. Battery lasts longer on functions that don't involve data like music playback, fm transmitter. But this phone isn't for webaholics or hardcore gamers. Not only the battery gets drained easily even on EDGE connection, it also overheats faster than most other phones when using functions that involve data transmission and graphics acceleration like web browsing and gaming. 1200mAh is obviously not enough for a device with the most features because you will only get to enjoy one feature per charge.

There is only one champ in multitasking, its Nokia N900, which is the only Nokia on the high end NOT running Symbian. Its linux. And Android is also using a Linux core.

I been reading opinions here about how genios it is of Nokia to use Symbian and ARM11 to save the battery, and now you dare come here and say it last onli 5 hours, same or worse as fones from other brands, fones with modern processors? Take your Nokia-hater lies elsewhere hah!
N8 has the best camera, Xenon flash is so good that the battery is rejoicing in heavenly peace, and angels play harps on small clouds when you use your N8.

symbian ^3 has the best multitasking ,and more sure symbian is the 1st os with multitasking since nokia 6600 when no other os was born, for instance ios 4 cant really multitask even android cant do a real multitask, gd work symbian you have the most pro os in the market but no one knows better than i do how smart your os is

Have to agree with the battery thing. Phone gets dead in just 5 hours of browsing over EDGE. It's a shame Nokia didn't put a 1500mAh cell on this multimedia powerhouse.

I remember the old days, we used touchscreen fones with a processor called Arm11. The LCD resolution was onli 360x640 but dont laugh, it was actually good at that time. Those fones had an OS also, i think it was called Symbian.
Well, thats past now, it was fun but evolution has come far since then, we will never see cellfones like that again.
