Anonymous, 08 Mar 2011this phone is to good to be made by nokiaHow can one sayb that this phone is too good to be masde by noika. Don't you know that real phones are only made by nokia?
angel, 09 Mar 2011are you relly sure with that..? coz im planning to buy n900 next month.. please tell me what... moreYou can go a head and buy this phone. It is a good phone, however due to the many features on it the battery time is very short though you can always charge it overnight.
ssm, 10 Mar 2011hi ....... Plzzz help me im in trouble I replaced my battery wit another 1 whose power is 11... moreBefore going through the process of reflashing your phone, make sure your original battery is fully charged, by charging it through an external charger or through another nokia phone that uses a similar battery like nokia 5800.
Plzzz help me im in trouble
I replaced my battery wit another 1 whose power is 1100mA, n now i have replaced my original battery,my phone is unable to switct on, n im getting only nokia screen, n it turn off n vice versa.......
i'm using it and i think it's great..
it's such a toy for those people who knows what it's all about..
for the battery life..
it's a handheld device so don't expect that much because as a IT professional i think it's just in the right place..
(except if there is already a battery invented that can really last in the same size)
maybe it's nokia's flaw??
but by far it's a leap forward from iphone..
that's for me coz it suits in my needs as an IT professional..
iphone = control freak
samsung = Wanna be in the "in crowd"
Sony erricson = "last to notice what's popular"
Hardik, 10 Mar 2011Hi Drax, I completely agree with Your views & appriciate them.. :)Very true Hardik :)

Rajvenesh, 08 Mar 2011Dont Buy Nokia N900 Phone!!!
I was not expecting in this era a phone with such a high Price... moreWhat a hell are you talking?
I have running my n900 for 2 days and still have 60% (including some playing, internet...).
As I said in my earlier posts, this device is not for regular users.
n900 is NOT a phone, it is Linux powered PC with phoning functionality.
If you are not ready to play with Linux power then I don't recommend to buy it.
- Don't use widgets/applications which run in background, they drain A LOT battery.
- Don't leave applications open when you don't need them
- Turn off any radio if you don't use it (GPS, Bluetooth, Wireless)
- If you are techie, install power kernel and optimize (undervolt) CPU frequencies
I have undervolted my CPU (on average, it uses now almost half power then normal) with frequency range 125mhz-600mhz and is stable.
If you don't want to play, then just use some predefined settings.
And please don't ask me how to do that, there is whole tutorial on the net, just search for "n900 power kernel tutorial" or something.
I haven't measured precise, but I would say that I have achieved to run for about 5 hours of constant heavy usage, which is more then enough to me.
90min movie (700mb, with subtitles on) chews up around 25% of my battery.
And please don't compare to iPhone or Galaxy S, they are just regular phones.
n900 have real multitasking (unlike OS on phones which I mentioned) what is main reason for draining battery.
Just look on the net what people managed to do with this phone (some examples are: connect external hdd or dvd rom, mouse, keyboard...). This is Linux power which I mentioned.
PS. Keyboard is awesome :)
Daisuke , 08 Mar 2011between N8 and N900, which one is better?Nokia N900 is better than Nokia N8.
Dont Buy Nokia N900 Phone!!!
I was not expecting in this era a phone with such a high Price and such a low battery. It is like fitting the battery of a small Car in to big Truck. I have always fear of loosing the battery when I go out of the city. I dont pick up the calls in the fear of loosing the battery. This is very risky to loose the network.
Nokia Should definitely recall the battery for this phone in order to meet the buyer's expectations. I bought this phone at high price because this was the Nokia phone. The same features are available in the other brands for 20% of the Price of the Nokia N900.
If Nokia does not care about the brand Image, then we should find some local manufaturer to provide the robust battery for Mobile Charger. Carry the mobile charger in one hand and phone in Other hand.
