OnePlus Android

OnePlus 12 is likely just around the corner, at least in the Chinese market, judging by the intensive leaks and official teasers lately. The latest reveal comes straight from OnePlus on Weibo, highlighting the phone's camera prowess and the excellent display.

As previously reported, a brand new Sony LYT-808 sensor will debut on the OnePlus 12 and according to the teaser, the sensor is co-developed with OnePlus, it's not just Sony's doing. The main camera is touted to be the best in its class and will be joined by a big 64MP 1/2.0" sensor coupled with a telephoto lens. The lens itself is produced using a new cutting-edge process, further improving the performance of the telephoto unit. And since it's marketed as a "periscope" telephoto camera, we can expect further than your standard 3x reach.

OnePlus' cameras will, of course, be fine-tuned by Hasselblad and will make use of Oppo's HDR and portrait-related technologies for processing images.

The teaser briefly talks about the display as well. OnePlus calls it 2K ProXDR display, although we got more information from BOE about the panel a couple of weeks ago.

We still don't have an official release date, but it's clear that the release is imminent.

I want to add that the periscope camera uses a 1/2" type sensor according to notebookcheck, apparently this was officially confirmed by Oneplus. Therefore, the effective lens diameter = focal length /f-number is slightly smaller in comparison ...
