OnePlus held an event on Saturday to celebrate its ninth year of existence and there were several notable announcements about the brand’s future plans. OnePlus and Oppo announced a new strategic partnership for the coming years which will see Oppo invest CNY 10 billion ($1.43 billion) in OnePlus over the next three years.

The new “dual-brand” strategy will see OnePlus as the pioneer brand for flagship smartphones. At the same time, OnePlus products will have a zero net profit margin to help maintain the best features and quality at their respective price point.

OnePlus phones and products will be sold exclusively online in China going back to its roots while customers will be able to get repairs at Oppo’s service centers around the country.

Oppo’s online store in China already has the latest OnePlus phones and accessories listed for sale. The last bit of news is that the OnePlus community app has now been re-launched in China to help OnePlus fans discuss, share and talk about all things OnePlus.

RIP OnePlus. It's like Motorola Lenovo all over again. Never liked Oppo or it's lousy ColorOS and bloatwares. Shudder to that they will now ruin OnePlus which is already happening with the Android 12 upgrade being rolled out

The problem is oppo just making money from costumers not supporting them for parts after 2 years. So that you buy another again an expensive one
