realme Android Rumors

The wired charging war has definitely subsided recently, but it hasn't outright stopped. According to a new rumor out of China, Realme is getting ready to introduce its very own 300W wired charging solution for smartphones.

We say "its very own" because this won't be the first 300W system shown by a Chinese device maker - in fact, Redmi announced its take on the matter all the way back in February of 2023.

When that came around, it was claimed it would fill up a 4,100 mAh battery from zero to full in under five minutes. More than a year has passed since that presentation and there has so far been no Redmi phone to actually employ this 300W charging tech.

We wouldn't be surprised if Realme's announcement will also be of the "technology showcase" variety, without any actual devices using it for a while. Then again, Realme has so far come closest to 300W with its 240W wired charging most recently featured in the GT5 and GT Neo 5 handsets.

According to the same source, Realme's upcoming GT7 Pro will feature an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
